Chapter 43

Robert touched his nose and turned his head. "Let's talk about work. What's wrong with the trade you mentioned?"

When Robert mentioned the trade, Naomi regained her composure and sat back. Her legs, in black stockings, were crossed as if she didn't care if Robert saw anything.

"The Zabel family from Acocester wants to establish a business in Navarre. Their ambition is evident. They aim to control the entire northwest market, with Yrinas as their first target. If the Zabinski Group refuses, they can't enter. Our Labelle Group has a long-term partnership with Everlasting Trade, a Zabinski Group company. But recently, Everlasting Trade has given almost one-third of its trade channels to the Zabel Group."

Naomi's face was filled with anger. "Robert, don't assume I'm ignorant. I understand business is a game of deception. If it's about profits, Labelle Group accepts that. However, in the Everlasting Trade/Zabel Group partnership, most of the profits go to the Zabel Group. Conversely, in our partnership with Everlasting Trade, we give most of the profits to the Zabinski family. I won't accept this."

Robert frowned. "Haven't you spoken to anyone at Everlasting Trade about this?"

"Of course," Naomi nodded. "But I haven't even seen Mr. York. Several contracts are expiring soon, and Everlasting Trade intends to not renew with Labelle Group, choosing the less profitable Zabel Group instead."

Robert closed his eyes, thought for a moment, and asked, "When are the contracts due for renewal?"

"A week from today. From a business perspective, Labelle Group has the advantage. This trade channel is within Navarre. As an external enterprise, the Zabel Group is inferior in terms of products and customer base," Naomi said solemnly. "Continuing our cooperation is a win-win situation."

A smile appeared on Naomi's face. She stood, walked to Robert, and put her arm around his neck. Leaning close, she breathed, "Robert, personally, you wouldn't want your company benefiting Kendrick, would you?"

Her voice sent shivers down Robert's spine. He shifted. "I'll give you an answer within a week."

"Thank you, Robert," Naomi laughed. "Let's go. Dinner's on me."

Robert smiled wryly. "It's too early for dinner."

"A romantic dinner takes time! Let's go. Think of it as a work discussion," Naomi playfully tugged his arm.

"Enough. What if your secretary sees us? Let's go." Robert conceded and left with Naomi. As they reached the lower level, they saw a brand-new Ferrari attracting attention. Kendrick emerged proudly, Marilyn following from the passenger seat.

Marilyn saw Robert and Naomi exiting the building. As she looked, Robert put his arm around Naomi's shoulders and strode toward the parking lot. Naomi smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder, looking happy.
