Chapter 1070: Unexpected Encounter

To his surprise, the Maserati driver recognized him and called out, “Shane? Is that you?”

“Oh? It’s you, Manny!” Shane was both surprised and excited to see Emmanuel. He rushed over, tears streaming down his face.

“Manny, it’s so good to see you! Please help me find Marilyn. I’m at…”

Emmanuel was speechless. Marilyn had left early, and even if he could have caught up with her, he wouldn't have wanted to. If she wanted to make money that way, she would eventually learn her lesson.

“You can’t control her for long, and that girl is not someone you can handle!” Emmanuel said bluntly. Although he was also saddened by Red’s death, Red and Marilyn were two different people; Shane shouldn't transfer his emotions for Red to Marilyn.

Shane sighed, realizing Emmanuel was right. In just a few days of knowing the rebellious girl, he'd found he couldn't handle her at all. She didn't take him seriously and just wanted to use him as a scapegoat.

“By the way, how did you end up working at this company? Do you know why Frederick was suddenly fired?” Emmanuel asked quickly.

“I don’t know either! The people here are a bit strange…” Shane explained his experience to Emmanuel in detail.

Just as they were talking, Henry walked out of the company entrance and saw a Maserati parked outside. He was startled. Seeing the man at the car window, he was shocked. Wasn’t that the elusive tycoon, Emmanuel? Who was Emmanuel talking to?

Henry suddenly felt uneasy. Seeing the back of the man speaking with Emmanuel, he was even more frightened. One didn't even need to see the face to recognize the sturdy figure. Who was audacious enough to fire the supervisor sent by Emmanuel?

“Um… um!” Henry hurried over, unable to speak a complete sentence for a moment, but successfully catching Emmanuel and Shane's attention.

“Mr. Houghton, why are you here?” Shane, unaware of Emmanuel's true identity, found Henry's hurried arrival strange.

Henry quickly smiled and nodded apologetically to Emmanuel, then nervously asked Shane, "What are you doing? Why are you holding a box?"

As soon as he asked, Shane became angry. “Mr. Houghton, are you pretending to have amnesia or deliberately playing with me? You fired me for bringing my sister to the company, and now you’re asking me this?”

Henry slapped his thigh in frustration. So, the girl who tampered with his computer was Shane's sister? He'd been wondering which employee would dare do such a thing! He sighed at his own stupidity. How could he not have thought of this?

Now that he'd fired the supervisor sent by Emmanuel, and Emmanuel was right in front of him, what should he do?

Unexpectedly, Emmanuel smiled and said, “Mr. Houghton, well done!”

“Huh?” Henry was confused. Was Emmanuel being sarcastic? Angry?

“Company rules must be strictly enforced. Whoever violates them must be punished!” Emmanuel stated.

“Ah! Yes!” Henry nodded repeatedly, realizing Emmanuel wasn't being sarcastic. He quickly recovered, smiling and saying, “However, the company also has some leniency for new employees. Shane has only been here for less than three days, so a warning is enough for the first offense. There’s no need to fire him!”

“Really?!” Shane's spirits lifted. As long as he wasn’t fired, he could continue working with the ladies in black stockings. Everything would be fine!

“Of course. I’ll take you back to your duties right away!” Henry quickly pulled Shane away, stealing glances at Emmanuel. Seeing that Emmanuel didn't give further instructions, he felt relieved and continued boldly.

The extraneous information ("15:53 Wed, 20 Dec," "www", "5 $") has been removed as it's not part of the narrative. The repeated sentence at the end of the original was also removed.
