Chapter 27

After Rebecca retrieved the package, she needed to descend from the tree. Charlie's heart nearly stopped when he saw this. He quickly ran under the tree, spread his arms wide, and said cautiously, "Becky, come down slowly. I'll catch you."

He was genuinely scared, thinking anxiously, "This is my sister, my own sister, and she just had babies a month ago. If she gets hurt today, Mom and Dad will kill me, and Adrian and Bryce won't let me off either!"

Meanwhile, Rebecca, still in the tree, looked at the nervous Charlie below and smiled.

Her smile was perfectly captured by the live broadcast camera. For a moment, the hearts of hundreds of thousands of viewers seemed to skip a beat, then the comment section exploded with excitement:

[Becky's smile is mesmerizing!] [How old is Becky? Why does her smile make me feel like I'm falling in love for the first time? She's so beautiful!] [Exactly... I used to be against Chuck dating, but now I think it's fine. If it's Becky, I'm all in for Chuck dating her!]

In the meantime, Theodore was sitting in a car heading towards Ember Ridge. As the car navigated the narrow mountain road, the driver was nervous and scared, but since Theodore insisted, he had no choice but to continue.

Theodore didn't notice the driver's nervousness. He sat in the backseat, watching the live broadcast on his phone.

In live Room Five, when Rebecca stood in the tree and smiled at Charlie, Theodore was struck by her beauty. She looked truly stunning.

Theodore realized he had never seen Rebecca this happy before.

The livestream's comment section went wild, praising her smile. Theodore couldn't help but agree. She did look beautiful.

But soon, his expression darkened. He saw a comment from one of Charlie's fans approving of Charlie and Rebecca dating. Theodore pondered angrily, "Rebecca is my wife. How could she be messing around with Charlie or getting close to another man?" His good mood vanished, replaced by intense anger.

Theodore abruptly kicked the seat in front of him hard.

Chapter 21

When the driver felt his boss's powerful kick, he was startled and immediately hit the brakes, stopping the car on the mountain road. Once Theodore realized he'd scared the driver, he explained with a grim expression, "This has nothing to do with you. Keep driving."

The driver was speechless.

Wyatt, in the front passenger seat, was terrified.

He thought, "Theodore in the back doesn't notice the dangerous mountain road, but I can see it clearly from the passenger seat! The road is narrow, and many sections lack guardrails. If the driver makes a mistake, we could all go off the cliff! Theodore's outburst could have killed us all!"

As Wyatt thought this, he reassured the driver, "Don't mind him. Just focus on driving. The mountain road is dangerous, so don't get nervous."

The driver quickly nodded, restarted the car, and continued driving.

Wyatt turned to Theodore. He hesitated before saying, "Theodore, we're almost at Ember Ridge. Could you hold off on watching the stream?

Even if you're hurrying to catch your wife in the act, you should think about your own safety first. If you scare the driver again, we might not catch her cheating. Instead, we might be delivering your inheritance to your wife.

If we all die, she can inherit your fortune directly and live happily with that pretty boyโ€ฆ you know, the actor Charlie!"

Theodore glared at Wyatt with an icy gaze. He said irritably, "Who said it's Rebecca I'm going to see?"

Wyatt was baffled and fell silent.

"I'm going to see my kids," Theodore added.

His expression darkened. He continued coldly, "Rebecca took my children to this godforsaken place. I'm going to gather evidence to accuse her of neglecting the babies." Wyatt was speechless.

Rebecca had no idea Theodore was arriving at Ember Ridge or that he planned to gather evidence of her neglecting the babies.

Back on the mountain, Rebecca quickly climbed down from the tree. Charlie checked her over several times, and after confirming she was unharmed, he felt relieved.

Afterwards, they went to the large package. Charlie began unpacking it, revealing the contents.

Jayden and Daphne stayed. When they saw the contents, the little girl exclaimed, "It's a big basin!"

After the basin, a spoon was revealed. Daphne said excitedly, "And there's a big spoon too!"

"What is this for?" Jayden asked curiously.

Charlie speculated, "Maybe for feeding the chickens?"

"Weren't we supposed to catch chickens? Why did the show crew give us a basin and a spoon? Do we need to feed the chickens before we catch them?" Jayden wondered aloud. Rebecca's eyes lit up. "I got it!"

Everyone looked at Rebecca curiously.

She picked up the basin and spoon, smiling. "Even though the chickens in the mountains are free-range, they are still raised by the villagers, right?

Since they are domestic chickens, they need to be fed. When the owner feeds them, the chickens will come back, won't they?"

Rebecca banged the spoon against the basin. The clang-clang-clang sound filled the previously quiet forest, and chickens ran from all directions. Everyone realized what was happening. Charlie smiled, proud of his sister's cleverness.

Jayden slapped his thigh in envy. He thought, "How did Rebecca and Charlie find such amazing tools? With this basin and spoon, they're definitely going to win. Trying to catch the chickens one by one would take forever, but with these feeding tools, the chickens will come running to them."

Daphne, unaware they were about to win, saw the chickens and exclaimed, "There are so many chickens, Daddy!"

"Yes, so many chickens. Let's go find our own tools too, Daphne!" Jayden replied happily. He bent down and headed in another direction to search.
