“You nearly managed to escape this, but isn’t this the hospital’s responsibility?” Tessa asked, casting another glance at Leroy.

“And you…did you perform the surgery?” In an instant, Leroy became the center of attention.

Zoe promptly stepped forward, declaring, “It was Xenia who initially requested our help. Our hospital’s surveillance system is recording all of this.”

After Zoe finished speaking, the nurses began to share their accounts. “There are surveillance cameras in the hospital. If you’re still doubting us, we can check the footage.”

The Reids were surprised. Meanwhile, Xenia slowly opened her eyes, panicking as she looked around.

“Where am I?”

Then, she gazed at Tessa and asked, “Mom, why are you here?” Xenia looked nervous and said, “I don’t know anything.” She started to cry, surprising everyone around her. Even Zoe appeared bewildered. “What do you mean? Didn’t you ask us for help before?”

Zoe was furious and puzzled by Xenia’s lie.

Leroy fell silent, recalling Cedric’s words. He instantly grasped their meaning.

Suddenly, Tessa shouted, “You unscrupulous doctors! You performed surgery without the patient’s consent!”

She turned her gaze sharply toward Leroy. “I will uncover the truth and expose you as a mortally corrupt doctor.”

Zoe was ready to charge ahead when Leroy intervened. “Don’t waste your energy. This has all been planned.”

Leroy fixed his gaze on Xenia. “We obtained your consent before the procedure. Why are you pretending to be unaware now?”

Xenia averted her gaze. “I was barely conscious and don’t remember what I said. Anything I said in that state is pointless.”

Her words made Zoe realize how audacious some people could be. She was surprised by their lack of shame and felt anxious, asking, “Aren’t you here to cause trouble on purpose?”

Tessa sneered. “We are not here to create any issues. This happened due to the actions of your hospital, yet you still refuse to acknowledge it.”

The rest of the Reids nodded in agreement. However, Xenia’s expression remained one of panic.

“Your family has truly enlightened me.” Zoe clenched her jaw, struggling to find the words.

“Where’s your director? He needs to show himself right now. We refuse to let this matter go,” Tessa insisted.

Leroy looked visibly upset.

“Mr. Olson, you can’t approach the director again. The last incident has yet to be resolved,” said Zoe.
