Chapter 97

“When the patient arrived at the hospital, she was unconscious, so we had to act quickly. I certainly don’t want to witness any unfortunate outcomes,” he explained.

Wesley felt relieved. “Madam, as I explained, your daughter was unconscious when she arrived. We couldn’t just stand by and let her…”

Tessa was upset. She questioned, “What do you mean? Are you shifting the blame?”

Noticing Tessa’s growing frustration, Wesley quickly shook his head, aiming to defuse the tension with a reassuring smile. “You’re mistaken. We just want to discuss this objectively. We both have our opinions, and I believe it’s unwise to escalate what is essentially a minor issue. As doctors, we must save lives and heal the injured. The hospital doesn’t expect anything more from your family.”

“Is your hospital truly planning to let this issue go with only a few words? This is incredibly eye-opening for us.”

After Tessa spoke, she looked at everyone and started to cry. “Please, we need your advice. What should we do?”

Her appearance left everyone sighing in helplessness, and soon, they began to feel pity for her.

Tessa felt proud, knowing that they would be safe if they won the people’s trust.

Wesley felt anxious when he noticed the people around him supporting Tessa. He understood that the situation had to be handled properly.

Zoe instinctively glanced at Leroy, who was standing next to her. Just as Leroy was about to speak, he saw a figure by the door. He froze.

Cedric immediately approached Scarlett when he spotted her. “Lettie, why are you here?”

“I heard some noise and came to see what was happening. Weren’t you supposed to leave?” Scarlett asked, feeling puzzled.

Cedric was taken aback, but soon, a smug grin appeared on his face. He replied, “I also heard some commotion, so I came to see what was happening. You won’t believe the big news. It involves Dr. Olson.”

Scarlett looked past the smile on Cedric’s face and quickly noticed Leroy. A faint frown appeared on her brow as she observed Leroy’s expression.

Wesley gazed at Scarlett, overwhelmed by a sense of helplessness. The chaos unfolding could not persist, as it threatened to impact the entire hospital.

With no other option, Wesley turned to Leroy. “Dr. Olson, this issue was caused by you, so you should resolve it. We recommend that you take some time to rest.”

Leroy accepted it calmly, but Tessa was dissatisfied. “Why is this type of doctor still allowed in the hospital? Who would ever want to consult with him again?”

As soon as Tessa finished speaking, the Reids quickly intervened to stop her. They recognized that pushing the matter further would only put them in the wrong and lead to unnecessary awkwardness.

Wesley felt relieved when the patient’s family member decided not to pursue the issue further.

Zoe frowned. “Mr. Olson, are you truly planning to take a break?”
