Chapter 22

Seeing the flood of insults, Brynn laughed in disbelief. Wow. Like streamer, like fans. She thought to herself. She smirked coldly. “I’m a voice actor, not a cam streamer. Can’t you read the description, Miss?”

Kylie hadn’t expected Brynniellee to fight back so directly. She was momentarily caught off guard but quickly recovered and retaliated, “Oh my, I was just casually asking a question. Why are you reacting like this?”

“Casually asking if I’m too ugly?” Brynn chuckled. “Do you really think people can’t see through your little tricks?”

While the two were exchanging barbs, the people who had been spreading rumors in Brynn’s live channel just moments ago suddenly realized their accounts had been banned—they couldn’t even log in.

“What are you talking about?” Kylie continued playing innocent. “You’re so defensive—don’t tell me you’re scared to go up against me in a live battle? Afraid you’ll lose?”

“Is this woman insane?” Declan, who had been watching the livestream, couldn’t hold back his frustration and cursed. “She dares to bully Brynn like this?”

Declan stormed into Kylie’s livestream. Seeing one of the top gifters, CandySweet, enter her live channel, Kylie was instantly delighted. However, before she could even greet them, she saw the messages they posted in the chat.

CandySweety: [This KylieXOXO looks hideous. Where does all this confidence come from?] CandySweety: [A cam streamer? Pfft!] CandySweety: [Not only is she evil, but her fans are just as annoying!]

Kylie was immediately livid, and her fans erupted in fury as well. Meanwhile, Brynn’s fans were laughing hysterically, dropping comments in agreement. In an instant, both fanbases started going at each other, cursing back and forth. But this wasn’t what Brynn wanted to see. She frowned slightly and spoke again. “So, you want a live battle? How do you want to do it?”

Kylie had once participated in a voice-acting competition. Since she had a decent appearance and a naturally sweet voice, she was dubbed the “Sweet Princess.” Recently, she had also made a big show online about being a lost daughter of a wealthy family, playing up the “long-lost heiress” persona. This had helped her rapidly gain two million followers on short-video platforms, making her a small-time influencer. Because of this, she was very confident in herself.

“Since you won’t show your face, we’ll have to compete with our voices,” Kylie spread her hands in a show of generosity. “You’re a voice actor, right? Let’s do a voice-dubbing challenge.”

Kylie believed the top gifters had surely donated so much because of Brynnie Bee’s voice—so if she beat Brynnie Bee in voice acting, wouldn’t those top gifters start liking her more instead? Even if she couldn’t completely surpass Brynnie Bee and it ended in a tie, with her looks and voice combined, those people would definitely go crazy for her.

“Sure, I’m in.” Brynn responded directly.

“Then…let’s pick the same character from the same TV show to dub,” Kylie smirked. “That way, it’ll be a fair comparison.”

Brynn raised an eyebrow. She had a rough idea of what Kylie was plotting. But she wasn’t afraid. She agreed without hesitation, “Fine.”

Kylie’s lips curled into a triumphant smile. She quickly picked a character she had previously dubbed in a TV show—a sweet, bubbly girl. The role fit her vocal range perfectly. Not wanting to give Brynniellee a chance to start first, Kylie cleared her throat and abruptly launched into her performance.

“Jackson. I love you! I don’t care what your answer is—I, Julie, am falling in love with you. I love you with the passion of a moth flying into a flame, and I will devote everything I have to you!”

As soon as she finished, her fans erupted in excitement, showering her with praise—not just in her own live channel, but also in Brynn’s channel to taunt her:

[As expected of our beautiful and sweet Kylie! That was amazing!] [Kylie, I love you!] [Wow, Kylie is so talented. She wins both in her talent and her look!] [What can that faceless little streamer over there possibly compete with?] [Exactly! Her voice is so plain and boring!]

Kylie’s fans went wild, hyping her up. Her top gifters even dropped tens of thousands in gifts for her. This left Brynn’s fans feeling extremely frustrated. They had already disliked this so-called “big sister” from the start. But as upset as they were, they couldn’t help but feel a little worried. After all, Brynn had always leaned towards a more mature, sultry vocal style. The roles she typically voiced were strong, sophisticated women. They had never heard her attempt something as saccharine as what Kylie had just done. So they weren’t very confident. They started to send Brynn messages in the live channel.

[Brynnie Bee, don’t feel pressured! This was totally a setup!] [Yeah! Everyone has different styles—she just picked something that suits her best!] [Even if you don’t win, we still love you! No pressure!]

Seeing Brynnie Bee’s fans trying to reassure her, Kylie’s fans got even more smug, throwing out taunts non-stop.

Watching the live stream, Dominic didn’t say a word. Instead, he coldly instructed Declan, “Take note of all these people who are talking nonsense.”

“Got it! You don’t even need to say it—I’m already on it.” Declan grumbled. “Once this PK is over, none of them are getting away. I will get them all banned.”

“Why hasn’t you started yet?” said Kylie, feeling even more pleased with herself, couldn’t wait to see Brynnie Bee make a fool of herself. Managing to steal the top gifters from BrynnieBee’s live channel, she couldn’t help but…

“Are you afraid your voice will sound terrible? Well, then maybe you shouldn’t be a voice actor at all. After all, not just anyone can be a voice actor.”

Chapter 22

Brynn rolled her eyes at the comment, too lazy to even argue. She simply cleared her throat, adjusted her emotions, and began dubbing, “Jackson. I love you…”

Unlike Kylie’s syrupy sweetness, Brynn’s voice was refreshing, like a gentle breeze—sweet, but never cloying. The moment she spoke, the once noisy live channel fell completely silent.

“I don’t care what your answer is—I, Julie, am falling in love with you. I love you with the passion of a moth flying into a flame, and I will devote everything I have to you,”

As soon as her last word landed, the previously frozen chat finally burst back to life. DJHS’s message popped up in Brynn’s live channel.

DJHS: [1,000 Golden Lions on me.]
