Chapter 76

Kylie was brimming with excitement. The Divine Doctor? So what? She had effortlessly found a clue to his whereabouts. Thinking about how she was just one step away from making her dream of becoming Chase’s wife a reality, she couldn’t wait any longer. She immediately pulled out her phone and sent a message to Eleanor.

Kylie: [Mrs. Johnson, I have news about the Divine Doctor.]

Eleanor Johnson was in the middle of a beauty treatment when she saw the message. As soon as she read it, she jolted upright, completely forgetting about the face mask she was wearing.

Eleanor: [Really?]

Kylie: [Yes!] [I’m at the Pacific Hotel right now. I just ran into a man who’s here to meet the Divine Doctor’s apprentice. I’m stalling him.]

Eleanor: [Good. Make sure you keep him there.]

After getting the update, Eleanor quickly ended the conversation and immediately called Mrs. Johnson of Eaglemont—the mother of Dominic. At that moment, Mrs. Johnson had just landed with her granddaughter, Zoe. She hadn’t even had time to meet the people Dominic had sent to pick her up.

“Madam, good news, I have information on the Divine Doctor!”

Mrs. Johnson was momentarily stunned. So soon? She had originally come to Portmare because she had received word from Eaglemont that the Divine Doctor was here. That was why she had secretly flown over with Zoe, leaving even her security team behind—her only priority was getting Zoe treated. However, Dominic still found out about her arrival and had arranged for someone to pick her up at the airport. But now…

“Are you sure?” Mrs. Johnson found it hard to believe, but excitement was evident in her voice.

The Eleanor was eager to swear on it. “How could I possibly lie to you? I just got word—the Divine Doctor’s apprentice is at the Pacific Hotel.”

“Is this information reliable?”

“Absolutely!” she assured. “If you go now, you should be able to meet them.”

Hearing this, Mrs. Johnson didn’t hesitate any longer. She immediately grabbed Zoe and left the airport, hailing a cab straight to the Pacific Hotel. She couldn’t afford to wait for Dominic’s people to arrive—what if she was too late and the Divine Doctor’s apprentice left? This was not something she could risk!

Seeing Eleanor’s message praising her, Kylie’s smile grew even wider. She knew pretending to be the Divine Doctor’s apprentice was the right move. She needed to keep pushing forward! With that thought, she turned to Gary, who was sitting nearby, and started trying to get closer to him.

“Mr. Buckman, do you stay in contact with my master often?”

Since this guy was supposed to meet the Divine Doctor’s apprentice, he must have a close connection with the Divine Doctor himself. Surely, he must know where the Divine Doctor was. But to her surprise, Gary shook his head. “How could I possibly contact the Divine Doctor, let alone do so often?” He hadn’t even met the Divine Doctor in person.

Kylie was taken aback by his response. No contact at all? How is that possible! He had to be either being humble or deliberately withholding information from her. Kylie clenched her fists, suppressing her frustration before continuing to pry.

“Oh, I see… Actually, it’s been a while since I last saw my master as well.” Kylie said, putting on a troubled expression. “I really miss him. Mr. Buckman, do you happen to know where my master is?”

Gary finally sensed that something was off. He narrowed his eyes at Kylie, “Miss Everett, aren’t you the Divine Doctor’s apprentice? How could you not know where your own master has gone?”
