Chapter 95

“Did you hear? Our school is going to compete with Panacea Medical School across the street,” one student said, glancing around to make sure everyone was listening.

“Huh? Really?” another student responded, raising an eyebrow in surprise.

“Yeah, it’s happening this afternoon. To keep things fair, they even set up a stage outside for everyone to watch,” the first student replied, grinning.

At noon in the cafeteria of Asclepius Medical College, many students were discussing the event.

“The dean even gave us half the day off so we could go watch and learn,” one student said, unable to hide a chuckle. “I think it’s just so they can watch the drama. There are barely any students over there, and they think they can win?”

Another student sitting nearby laughed and agreed. “Of course! I heard the one representing us in the competition is Thomas, the one the dean’s been eyeing. He’s been called a medical genius! He’ll wipe the floor for sure!”

While the students in Asclepius Medical College were filled with confidence, the students in Panacea Medical School, upon hearing the news, were filled with gloom.

‘Great. We were already looked down upon by the modern medicine students, and now it seemed like we’d be the laughingstock of the opposite school.’

“Who agreed to this competition? Are they out of their minds?”

A student in Panacea Medical School couldn’t help but complain. “I never even wanted to study traditional medicine. If my grandfather hadn’t insisted I apply here, I wouldn’t have come.”

“We’re all the same,” another student sighed. “Well, I heard it was a new female teacher who agreed to this, along with a bottom-tier student. This is just ridiculous.”

“Exactly…”

The students in Panacea Medical School were filled with resentment toward the unknown Brynn Everett.

By 1:30 p.m., the stage for the competition was already set up. When Josh arrived, he saw that the area below the stage was packed with people, making him feel nervous.

Just then, Brynn walked up beside him and gave him a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, I’m here.”

Josh took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves.

“Well, well, Miss Everett’s here!” George Marshall, who had already arrived, smiled at her and Josh. “I’ve already arranged the patients for the competition. It’s a father and son with a rare disease; they both have the same condition.”

Following his words, Brynn looked toward the father and son sitting at the center of the stage. Their exposed skin was covered in reddish-brown blood spots, giving them a rather disturbing appearance.

“Hello, I’m Thomas Grayson, a student of George Marshall,” said the young man standing next to George Marshall, stepping forward to introduce himself to Brynn and Josh.

“That’s Thomas?” One of the students from Asclepius Medical College couldn’t help but praise. “He’s so handsome. I heard he’s from a family of doctors, three generations of them!”

“With Thomas on their side, we’ve got this competition in the bag.”

The students from Asclepius Medical College were confident.

“The rules for the competition are simple. Whoever…” The rest of the sentence is illegible.

“Sound good?” George Marshall smiled.

Brynn nodded. “Sure.”

“Then, let the competition begin!”

As George Marshall spoke, he gave Thomas a knowing look. Thomas nodded and walked confidently toward the son. Though he knew he was going to win, he still wanted to make the defeat as humiliating as possible. With his skills on display, the students from Panacea Medical School would look foolish.

Thomas first checked the patient’s eyes, nose, and mouth, then began his examination. “Any palpitations or nausea?” Thomas asked the patient.

The patient weakly nodded. A knowing look appeared on Thomas’s face as he asked a few more questions. The patient confirmed similar symptoms…

Watching Thomas’s skilled and professional manner, everyone was certain that Josh from Panacea Medical School stood no chance of winning! Even Josh himself started to feel uncertain…

“Don’t be afraid,” Brynn said, noticing Josh’s nervousness. “Believe in yourself. Go take the old man’s pulse.”

“Okay… okay!” Josh took a deep breath and walked toward the other patient.

Maybe it was the nerves. When Josh sat down in front of the patient, he lost his balance for a moment and nearly fell to the floor.

“Ha!” The spectators couldn’t hold back their laughter.

‘And this guy thought he could win? Yeah, dream on!’
