Listen to this chapter:

Before Matthew could assess the situation, a knock came at the door. Mr. Moreno from the product department entered to report on his work.

Under Matthew’s leadership, the Noria Group was poised to establish a new car dealership, aiming to provide integrated one-stop service and become the most comprehensive and luxurious large-scale car dealership in the industry. All preparations were complete, and the final stage of talent recruitment was about to begin.

“Mr. Grant, as per your instructions, the employees needed for the new project will be selected from car dealerships under the Noria Group…”

This was precisely why they had gathered the top performers from all branches for a meeting. The new department held promising prospects, and the compensation was undoubtedly the best. As a result, everyone in Noria Group's car dealerships was vying for a position.

Mr. Moreno continued, but Matthew's deep voice interrupted, “Let Arcton Cars participate as well.”

Mr. Moreno was stunned, looking at Matthew with uncertainty and anxiety, fearing he had misheard. Arcton Cars was a small, recently acquired brand dealing in mid-to-low-end vehicles; they had even caused a disruption in the conference hall the previous day. Even in talent selection, Arcton Cars' representatives were considered insignificant.

However, since it was Matthew's suggestion, Mr. Moreno naturally had no objections. He couldn't help but wonder why Matthew had suddenly shown interest in Arcton Cars.

Meanwhile, Charles observed from the sidelines, amused. He surmised that Matthew's interest lay not in Arcton Cars, but in Valerie, Sophia's savior. Knowing this, Matthew couldn't remain inactive and devised a roundabout approach: offering Arcton Cars a chance to compete—a subtle expression of gratitude to Valerie.

Charles mused, "Mr. Grant might as well tell Sophia the truth. If Sophia knew her lifesaver was now Mrs. Grant, she'd be overjoyed and certainly wouldn't bother Mr. Grant further!"

The morning at Arcton Cars was busy. Staff ate in shifts, and it wasn't until nearly two o'clock that the dealership quieted down enough for them to rest.

Katherine, already furious about the previous day's incident at Noria's venue, was determined to find Isabel to defend Valerie. After half a day without seeing Isabel, Katherine began asking around.

“Can you believe it, Valerie? Our usually placid general manager, who’s normally just sipping coffee and smiling, actually exploded in the office yesterday when he learned about Isabel's scheme against you! Isabel's been fired; no wonder she didn't show up this morning—her belongings haven't even been cleared out. Probably too embarrassed to return,” Katherine said.

“Fired?” Valerie was surprised.

Although yesterday's incident was chaotic, Isabel was under Dylan's protection, and it was precisely because of Dylan that she had been so reckless. Valerie hadn't expected to significantly harm Isabel, only to make her suffer a setback and keep her distance in the future. She hadn't anticipated the usually reserved general manager would actually dismiss Isabel.

However, on reflection, it made sense. The incident occurred at the Noria Group's venue; Noria Group likely intervened, leaving Dylan unable to protect Isabel. Considering their relationship was merely a pretense, he certainly wouldn't risk his future for her.

Mid-conversation, Dylan stormed in, furious. “Stop chatting during work hours. We’re having a meeting!”

He slammed his briefcase on the table, his face red with anger. His glare at Valerie was intense.

Unable to directly confront her, he indiscriminately lashed out at everyone, particularly those underperforming. He wanted to reprimand Valerie Warren, but she was again the top salesperson this month, leaving him no grounds for criticism. However, letting her off didn't sit well with him.

After considering his options, he slyly announced, “I’m going on a business trip to Sandimore City the day after tomorrow for a major collaboration with a travel company. Valerie, you’re coming with me!”
