Listen to this chapter:

"Crazy bitch, stop!" The men in the pantry were hopping around in a panic. The hotel staff and the coal magnate's representatives finally arrived late and unhurriedly, having heard the commotion.

When they reached the pantry door, they were shocked by the scene inside. All the men were scalded red by the hot water. They frantically stripped off their clothes to cool down, looking as frantic as piglets in a pot of oil.

The hotel staff, fearing trouble, quickly tried to smooth things over. "Miss," they said, "that's enough. Everyone's just celebrating. What are you trying to do?"

Valerie sneered. "You ask me what I'm doing? I should be asking what you are up to! Is this how people behave at a wedding?"

The coal magnate's representatives said sheepishly, "How can you say that? It's not serious! Playful banter with the bridesmaids is common. Everyone teases them for fun…"

The water in Valerie's kettle was already poured. Enraged, she hurled the kettle away. "Bah! Don't hide behind 'playful banter.' What you're doing is criminal!" she said. She thought, Too bad the water wasn't hotter. They're just uncomfortable; they won't even blister. She trembled with anger. But I can't tremble. Katherine still needs me.

"Katherine, let's go," she said.

Valerie supported Katherine, who was like a traumatized marionette. Her eyes were glassy, and even a light touch made her tremble. Valerie felt heartbroken. Katherine's clothes were torn. Fortunately, two cleaning ladies' coats were in the corner. Valerie grabbed one and draped it over Katherine.

After a good scolding, the men sobered up and sheepishly ran off. Valerie supported Katherine and started to leave. Unexpectedly, a figure blocked their way.

"Where are you going? You're not calling the police, are you? I warn you, you can't leave!"

Valerie was surprised to see Dylan's wife. She'd previously refused to accompany Valerie, yet here she was.

Dylan's wife refused to move, hands on hips, teeth gritted. "You smashed my husband's head," she said. "I haven't settled the score with you yet. Stop right there!"

Valerie said, "Didn't you see what your husband was doing? Acting like a wild animal?"

Dylan's wife's face paled, but she quickly recovered. "I only saw you smash his head. I saw nothing else. Valerie, if you harmed my husband, this won't end today!"

Dylan was the family's breadwinner. His wife was ferocious towards his mistresses, but oddly submissive towards him. She preferred to blame others. It's someone else's fault, she thought. I can't let Valerie and Katherine report this. It'll hurt Dylan's career. She wouldn't let them leave.

Valerie, initially sympathetic, now found Dylan's wife unreasonable.

Katherine sighed wearily. "I won't report this," she said, thinking, Dylan doesn't care about losing face, but I want my dignity. This won't benefit the Santos family. Considering his head was smashed, I can choose not to press charges.

However, Dylan's wife still blocked their path. "Who knows what you'll do behind my back?" she said. "I don't trust you!"

Valerie lost patience. Katherine can't handle another ordeal. I need to get her out of here! "I'm warning you for the last time. Get lost!"

But Dylan's wife grew bolder, even pushing her belly forward. "I won't move. Walk past a pregnant woman if you dare!"

"What exactly do you want?" Valerie asked.

"This is easily resolved," Dylan's wife said. She took out her phone, turned on the camera, and started recording Katherine. Distorting the truth, she said, "Everyone, look! This woman failed to seduce my husband and conspired to smash his head! I wouldn't believe such shameless people exist! Look at them! Stay away from them!"
