Chapter 13: He Suddenly Kissed Her Fiercely

Gu Qichen fell silent for a moment, then said deliberately, "I was indeed waiting for you."

Xia Yangyang replied, "Oh? Has President Gu reconsidered and decided to sign the divorce agreement?"

A chilly atmosphere immediately enveloped Xia Yangyang. Gu Qichen's expression visibly changed. This woman. She only talks about divorce. How impatient can she be? He thought, How desperately does she want to leave me and fall into Chen Yu's arms?

Silence fell. Xia Yangyang felt her phone vibrate in her bag. Unsure who was calling, she reached for it.

This was familiar to Gu Qichen. Just days ago, at the airport, Xia Yangyang had pulled a divorce agreement from her bag and thrust it at him, demanding his signature. Her tone had been cold and indifferent. Does she always carry that agreement, waiting for this moment? he wondered.

Startled, Xia Yangyang exclaimed, "Gu Qichen, what are you doing?"

Raising her head to meet his furious gaze, she saw a stern, frightening expression. He spat out each word through gritted teeth: "Xia Yangyang, don't push me too far!"

His voice was dangerously low, a suppressed menace in his tone. His eyes, like a stormy ocean, seemed calm but held the potential for a violent tempest.

Xia Yangyang sensed his anger but didn't understand its source. What did I do? Could any woman be more accommodating? she thought. Anyone else would at least demand compensation.

She said, "Mr. Gu, what do you mean by 'pushing you too far'? The divorce agreement states I leave with nothing. What more do you want? Sign it, and we're done. I promise not to bother you again. If you're still unsatisfied, tell me what else you want."

Looking at her, Gu Qichen felt a surge of anger. She'd rather leave with nothing than have any connection with me, he thought. How eloquent she is about severing ties! It shows how indifferent and impatient she truly is. Our marriage is like sticky candy she wants to shake off, leaving behind a mess without a second thought. What do I mean to her? His grip tightened, causing Xia Yangyang to cry out in pain. "Let go of me, Gu Qichen! What are you doing?"

Suddenly, Xia Yangyang felt a sharp pain as Gu Qichen kissed her fiercely. Stunned, her mind went blank. His kiss, unlike any before, was dominant and almost suffocating.
