Chapter 13: Filming a Bed Scene

Her mouth and nose were filled with his unique, icy scent, tinged with alcohol. He had been drinking. No wonder.

With all her might, Xia Yangyang pushed Gu Qichen away, shouting, "Gu Qichen, what the hell is wrong with you?"

Gu Qichen stepped back, touching the corner of his mouth where Xia Yangyang had bitten him. A mark of blood appeared on his lips. He took another step back, his expression darkening.

Xia Yangyang glared at him, her chest heaving, like a wary cat. Her anger gradually subsided into silence as she watched him. Gu Qichen seemed to revert to his usual aloof demeanor. His voice was icy. "Xia Yangyang, do you believe I can make Chen Yu fall from his pedestal?"

A chill ran through Xia Yangyang. "Gu Qichen, what are you trying to do?"

"What I do depends on your attitude, Xia Yangyang. Don't do anything to make me jealous. Otherwise, I don't know what I might do."

Before Xia Yangyang could reply, Gu Qichen turned and left. Dazed, angry, and confused, she remained standing. What on earth was wrong with him? He had reconciled with Shen Manbing; why the ambiguous remarks? Was he trying to have his cake and eat it too?

Even if she didn't mind, could Shen Manbing tolerate her existence? Xia Yangyang couldn't understand his actions. Her phone vibrated; it was a missed call from Chen Yu. Restless, she didn't answer.

The script depicted Lin Xiaofan and Kim Shixun's wedding, attended by friends and family, and blessed by Kim Shimei. Everyone went to Ruoya Cathedral that afternoon to film the wedding scene. It was Xia Yangyang's first time wearing a wedding gown, standing at the altar, holding a man's hand. Chen Yu was extremely handsome, almost princely.

Shen Manbing recorded the entire shoot and sent it to Gu Qichen. She then texted him: "Your little wife has a bed scene tonight. Want to come and watch?"

Indeed, Gu Qichen returned to Maple Villa early that night. The script's only bed scene was filmed there. Xia Yangyang felt uneasy about it.

The director instructed, "It needs to be passionate. Kim Shixun's character is filled with desire, almost beastly—the audience likes that. Lin Xiaofan needs to show a transition from coy to uncontrollable. Show the depth of her love."

Chen Yu grinned. "I have no problem. I suggest we improvise—maybe a bath scene?"

Xia Yangyang glared at him. Even just listening to the director made half her face turn red. She abhorred close contact with any man other than Gu Qichen, even Chen Yu. The thought of the bed scene made her stiffen. But this was filming; she needed to separate the script from her personal life.

Once ready, the director called, "Action!"
