Chapter 194: Done All the Misdeeds

Xia Yangyang quickly led Chen Yu backstage and out a side door. She grabbed a coat for him to disguise himself, ensuring their exit went unnoticed. Witnessing the crowd's fervent enthusiasm, Xia Yangyang finally understood the power of an idol. A long line stretched from the auditorium to the school gate; for the entire hour and a half performance, people relentlessly pushed to get inside.

Xia Yangyang hurried Chen Yu to an empty lab in the science building, arriving breathless. "Why did you come?" she asked.

Chen Yu chuckled. "To see your performance, of course. You haven't contacted me in ages."

Xia Yangyang admitted it had been a while since the shoot wrapped.

"How did you know about the performance?" she asked.

"I just returned from the film festival," Chen Yu explained. "Shichuan invited me to dinner, and he mentioned it. So I came. Little Madam, you're not very thoughtful. You could have asked me for props; I could have found better ones."

Xia Yangyang felt grateful. It was Shen Shichuan who'd told him. "You did me a huge favor," she said. "What would you like to eat? My treat."

"A meal is all I get for saving you?" Chen Yu teased.

Xia Yangyang laughed. "Then what do you want?"

"Not sure yet," he mused, "but you owe me a favor. I'll call it in later."

"You're good at seizing opportunities," Xia Yangyang chuckled.

"Thanks for the compliment," Chen Yu replied, playfully putting his arm around her neck. "Let's go eat."

After lunch, Chen Yu left. An international superstar, he'd taken time from his busy schedule to support her. By the time Xia Yangyang returned to the Eastern Auditorium, the crowd had dispersed, though some cast members remained.

Wen Xiaochu rushed over. "Yangyang, Chen Yu came! We completely flipped the script! The Western Auditorium audience cleared out. Kim Fei'er got so angry halfway through her performance that she ripped her costume and smashed her props! It was satisfying!"

Hua Qingqing added, "She bought tons of souvenirs, now piled up backstage. Nobody wants them! She really lost."

Suddenly, Kim Fei'er's voice cut through the air. "Xia Yangyang, you despicable person!"

Kim Fei'er stormed up to Xia Yangyang, finger pointed accusingly. "You got Chen Yu to sabotage my show!"

Xia Yangyang responded calmly, "Kim Fei'er, you must accept the consequences of your gamble. The competition was based solely on audience numbers; there were no restrictions on attracting them. You bought souvenirs, advertised everywhere, even stole our audience from the Eastern Auditorium, and deliberately destroyed our props and costumes. Compared to your tactics, ours were far more aboveboard."

Wen Xiaochu chimed in, "She's playing by a double standard. She committed countless wrongdoings and still has the nerve to be provocative! If there were a 'Most Shameless' award, she'd win it."

"Wen Xiaochu, I'll tear your mouth apart!" Kim Fei'er raged.
