Chapter 13: Dare You Beat My Brother?

Miss Sanderson arrived earlier that morning, seemingly in a hurry to prepare something important. However, she was supposed to be playing golf with some VIPs.

The receptionist eyed the expensive bouquet jealously; its cost was nearly equivalent to several months of her salary.

"Alright, I'll go in first," Henson sneered. "Remember to ask someone to clean up that trash near the door. It's incredibly annoying!"

Trevor was angered by this. He looked at the receptionist and asked, "This man doesn't have an appointment, does he? How was he allowed to enter?" He couldn't believe his sister was being pursued by such a playboy, and the receptionist had let him in so easily! She clearly had double standards.

The receptionist rolled her eyes impatiently. "Mr. Henson Cairon is the heir of the Sen Tale Group," she said firmly. "You're insignificant compared to him."

Henson, having overheard, approached Trevor and shoved him hard. "Look at you, in those rags! How dare someone as pathetic as you enter Willard Villa? Can you even afford to be here?"

"No appointment, no entry!" the receptionist echoed.

"Then I must enter," Henson declared.

Though furious, Trevor suppressed his anger, took out his phone, and stepped outside.

"Didn't you say you were going in? Why are you leaving? Come back if you've got the guts!" Henson shouted, a scornful smile on his face.

To their surprise, Trevor appeared to end the call, turning to face them both.

"What? Still unconvinced? Believe it or not, I'm going to beat you up right now!" Henson threatened, clenching his fists, clearly not taking Trevor seriously.

"Mr. Cairon, please calm down," the receptionist said, attempting to appease Henson. "I've already called security. I've asked them to break his legs. Let's see if he dares to set foot here again!"

At that moment, a pleasant voice cut through the tension. "I'd like to see who dares to beat my brother!"

A tall, elegant young woman entered, beautiful and poised, like an angel in a suit. This was Evie, Trevor's sister. Her long, flowing hair cascaded down her back; her skin was fair and smooth. She possessed a sophisticated air, though her eyes held a simmering anger.

The lobby fell silent. No one dared to breathe loudly. It was the first time the staff and Henson had seen her so angry.

"Miss Sanderson!" The receptionist rushed to her, saluting respectfully.

Henson, seeing his "dream girl," quickly produced a bouquet of roses. "Miss Sanderson," he said with a fawning smile, "this is a gift I carefully selected for you. Regarding this year's cooperation with the Sen Tale Group, we should discuss the contract extension."

Evie's face was frigid. "You were planning to hurt my brother moments ago," she said. "Forget the contract extension."

Henson's eyes widened in horror. He glanced at Trevor, dismissing him as unworthy of being Evie's brother. He searched for Trevor for another five minutes, eventually concluding that Evie was using him as an excuse to avoid signing the contract.

"Miss Sanderson," Henson said with a bitter smile, "I… I haven't seen your brother, let alone beaten him. If you're unhappy with the contract, perhaps we can renegotiate the terms."

The Sen Tale Group was facing a severe financial crisis that year. Failure to secure this project would lead to bankruptcy, plunging even Henson into poverty.
