Chapter 130

David acceded to the Langley family's request. He had always valued family ties. Since Margot had personally apologized and offered him positions at the Langley Group and Heavenly Will Bazaar, he felt respected and honored, and thus, could not refuse.

Consequently, David and his family rejoined the Langley family, assuming a position of highest status, wielding considerable authority and respect. That same day, the Serpentine Gang vacated the bazaar, and the Rivenesco government lifted its restrictions on the Langley family's businesses. Normalcy resumed.

This reinforced the Langley family's belief in David's and his family's influence and connections. They no longer dared show disrespect. This was precisely Dustin's intention. He had spared them only because of David's devotion to his family; otherwise, given Dustin's nature, he would have preferred to dismantle the Langley family entirely and have David's family assume control in Rivenesco.

That evening, Simone invited Dustin to a movie and dinner. After the film, they dined at a restaurant.

"Dustin, I know you're responsible for this sudden change of heart," Simone said.

Dustin smiled enigmatically. He knew he couldn't keep the truth from her.

"Thank you," Simone said gratefully. "Without you, our family would be ruined. The loan sharks from the Serpentine Gang would have destroyed us."

"We're family," Dustin replied. "You don't thank family for doing what's right."

Simone smiled. "Sometimes, I wonder about your power and influence," she asked.

"I can't reveal everything yet," Dustin said, smiling. "In due time, you'll know."

He harbored many secrets, including his planned vengeance against powerful, unknown enemies. The fewer secrets Simone and her family knew, the better; he didn't want them to worry. After leaving the Wyatt family's secret room, he had mobilized Hell Hall to investigate the Fox family tragedy. Upon learning the results, he would act swiftly.

"Alright," Simone said, trusting him implicitly. She didn't press him further. "I'm going to the washroom." She excused herself.

Dustin took a sip of water when Christian burst into the restaurant, panicked. He ran straight to Dustin.

"Bad news, Dustin! Someone kidnapped Simone! They went that way! You need to pursue them!" Dustin frowned, his eyes narrowing. A Hell Guard materialized beside him and immediately dashed off in the direction Christian indicated.

Once the guard was gone, Christian grinned.

"So, what do you want?" Dustin asked indifferently.

"What do I want?" Christian's face contorted. "I want to beat you up, of course!"

With a yell, a group of menacing thugs stormed the restaurant, swiftly overwhelming it and surrounding Dustin.

"You think you're untouchable because of your guard? He's gone, and you're nothing now! I can kill you with a flick of my wrist!" Christian snarled.

He'd awaited this moment for a long time—finally, he could take Dustin down.

Dustin remained impassive, ignoring the thugs. They might frighten ordinary people, but they were inconsequential to him.

"Are you acting of your own volition, or were you ordered?" Dustin asked.

Christian's expression froze before he sneered. "I'll tell you. This isn't just Grandma's whim. The entire Langley family wants you gone from Rivenesco!"

Dustin snorted. Had they not learned their lesson? Or were they incorrigibly greedy?

"Let me be blunt," Christian said. "The Langley family believes you hinder our progress. You're unworthy of Simone; marrying into a powerful family would elevate us!"

Dustin's face darkened like a storm cloud. He knew it! Their greed persisted. Old habits die hard.

"It's time to eliminate you," Christian sneered. "Don't worry, I won't let you die quickly. I'll take you out of the city, make you suffer, and then destroy your body. David and his family will never find a trace!" "Do it!" he shouted.

The thugs lunged at Dustin with their bats.

Boom!

Wood splintered as the thugs were hurled back, screaming in pain.

Christian's face darkened; he gestured for another attack. The thugs surged forward, intending to overwhelm Dustin. Unfazed, Dustin swept his arms, creating a whirlwind that sent the attackers sprawling.

Christian was stunned. He'd assumed that once the Hell Guard was gone, he could torment Dustin at will. He'd been overly optimistic; Dustin was far stronger than he'd imagined. Dustin was an untouchable force, provoking him was a fatal mistake. No one could harm him.

Dustin calmly approached Christian, who trembled in terror, finally realizing Dustin was far more frightening than his guard.

"Stop him!" Christian cried in panic.

But it was futile. The thugs' attacks were ineffective. In an instant, Dustin stood before Christian.

"I warned you about disrespecting me," Dustin said, his voice icy. "And you used David's first name again, didn't you?" He looked at Christian's legs.

Christian trembled, involuntarily stepping back. "If you hurt me, the Langley family won't forgive you!"

Dustin ignored him, his gaze menacing. With a swift, decisive movement, it was over.

"AAAAAH!!!"

Christian screamed in agony, clutching his broken legs. Dustin had broken them.
