Chapter 131 (+25 Bonus)
Dustin pulled out a chair, sat down, and watched indifferently as Christian writhed in pain. The agony of a broken leg was unbearable for most, let alone for Christian, who had been pampered since childhood.
When Christian fainted, Dustin heard hurried footsteps outside the restaurant. Another group of people stormed in. Someone stepped on Christian's hand, causing him to wake up screaming.
"What the hell?! You want a fight?! I'll kill you!" he roared.
"Who's this lunatic? Is this a scam?" The newcomers were from the Zimmer family. Seeing Christian's outburst, they glared at him. The Zimmer family, cornered by the Wyatt family, had been searching for Dustin. Finding him, they'd rushed over; Christian's shouting only increased their irritation.
"Are you blind?! How dare you step on me?! I'll kill you!" Christian shrieked.
"What did you just say?" The Zimmer family seethed. Someone raised a foot, about to stomp on Christian's hand again.
"I'm Christian Langley! Do you really want to die?!" Christian yelled.
"Christian Langley?!" someone exclaimed, shocked. He stepped forward, examining Christian with a strange expression. "It's been a while. You've become far more arrogant," he said coldly.
Christian recognized the voice. In pain, he looked up, terrified.
"J-Jack?"
Both were children of wealthy Rivenesco families; everyone knew Jack—the notorious troublemaker among the city's young elite. The Zimmer family was one of Rivenesco's most powerful; Jack was ruthless and feared. No one dared challenge him.
Shocked, Christian saw he was surrounded by numerous Zimmer family members, including the rarely seen Klein. What was happening? He stopped screaming, enduring the pain in silence. Sweat beaded on his forehead; his face paled.
"Mr. Fox!" Klein's cry startled Christian. He watched in confusion and shock.
Thud! (+25 Bonus)
Klein knelt before Dustin. Christian's eyes widened. For a moment, the leg pain lessened, overshadowed by shock. Why was the head of one of Rivenesco's most powerful families kneeling before Wyatt family "trash"?
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Before Christian could process this, other Zimmer family members also knelt before Dustin. "Please save our family, Mr. Fox!" Klein pleaded, pressing his head to the floor. The others followed suit. Dustin frowned. The Zimmer family was supposed to be fighting the Wyatt family. What was going on? Why were they begging him for help?
This scene shocked Christian; a storm of emotions raged within him. He couldn't comprehend the Zimmer family's deference to Wyatt family "trash." But Christian wasn't stupid. He connected the dots: the "trash" had a secret identity. Remembering recent events, another possibility struck him. His breath hitched. 'David and his family's influence in Rivenesco stems from this Wyatt family "trash!"'
