Chapter 29
Bella Wyatt, an A-list celebrity, found herself without any film roles.
"Bella, perhaps you could try for a supporting role?" her assistant suggested.
"Bullshit!" Bella exclaimed, her eyes blazing. "Someone of my caliber playing a side character? What a joke!"
The assistant remained silent.
Days later, Bella, unable to contain herself, contacted the directors again, requesting a leading or supporting role. She was rejected.
"Sorry, the roles are filled," one director said. Another added, "Miss Wyatt, you're not a good fit."
Enraged, Bella threw her expensive makeup in her dressing room. Even offering to work for free didn't change the directors' minds. Depression set in.
Then, her assistant offered a glimmer of hope. "Bella, I heard a production team is holding open auditions for a female lead in a highly anticipated historical drama. Why don't you try?"
Bella, seizing the opportunity, applied flawless makeup and rushed to the audition.
Meanwhile, at the Rivenesco filming studio, Camille nervously fidgeted.
"Dustin, I'm so nervous," she confessed to Dustin and Simone, who accompanied her. The long line of auditioners, filled with both young stars and established actors, intimidated her. Unlike them, Camille was virtually unknown since leaving the crew of Lady Covey's Diaries. Dustin and Simone had been instrumental in keeping her spirits up, especially after Dustin unexpectedly submitted her resume for the lead role a few days prior.
Camille had been thrilled to hear the production company's name, but speechless when she learned Dustin had submitted her resume for the lead. She was just an extra—the idea seemed ludicrous. She expected nothing to come of it.
Yet, today, Dustin delivered unbelievable news: she'd made it past the initial screening. Camille initially thought she'd misheard, but the email confirmation confirmed the news. Overwhelmed with joy, she almost fainted.
At the audition, however, Camille's nerves returned. Her most significant role had contained only a few lines. How could she compete?
"What's to be nervous about? Just give it a shot. What if you're picked?" Dustin said, smiling.
Simone added encouragingly, "Exactly! There's hope, Camille. You'll never know until you try." While Simone admitted the odds were slim, Dustin's efforts demanded their support.
"Alright. I'll give it a try," Camille resolved, joining the queue.
A commotion erupted.
"Bella Wyatt is here!" someone shouted.
Bella's arrival immediately drew attention. Seeing Dustin and Camille at the back of the line, her expression darkened.
"How dare an extra audition for the lead role in a major production?" Bella sneered. "This isn't trying your luck; it's delusional! A complete lack of self-awareness!"
Camille, mortified, remained silent. Dustin's face hardened.
"Dustin Fox," Bella sneered, "you think this little girl can replace me? Is something wrong with you?"
