Chapter 45
Amara arrived at the Zimmer family villa in her Maserati. She had decided to visit them personally. The Zimmers were one of Rivenesco's most prominent and powerful families. Amara was wary of Klein, a formerly renowned businessman. Though retired from company management for years, his influence remained considerable. Klein's recent message had deeply worried her.
She was in a foul mood, struggling to understand the turn of events. Despite framing the Langley family and Dustin, her targets had escaped unscathed from the Zimmers, avoiding blame for Jack's injury. Her visit aimed to mend fences and uncover the truth.
"Please inform Mr. Klein and Mr. Jack that Amara Wyatt is here to see them," she said with a smile to the guard.
The guard relayed the message, granting her entry. Amara was confident her skills and strategy would resolve the situation.
She was led into the Zimmer family hall. Family members stood to the side; Klein sat in the main seat, his face grim.
"Hello, everyone," Amara greeted politely, smiling.
The Zimmers glared, ignoring her.
Klein slammed his hand on the table. "Amara Wyatt, I can't believe your audacity!"
Amara remained calmly warm. As the eldest Wyatt daughter, she maintained composure.
"Mr. Klein, please. I'm here to visit Jack," she said. "He was injured by a malicious person simply for wanting to work with me. Dustin, once our family's servant, grew resentful after his dismissal and plotted revenge. Jack was caught in the crossfire. I've brought gifts to apologize; I hope you won't blame me."
Her speech cleverly deflected blame.
"Dustin Fox is an arrogant man who committed a terrible act. If you wish to punish him, we won't interfere—we'll even help," she added.
Unseen by Amara, Klein's face darkened further.

"Amara, you insolent brat! How dare you suggest we fight Dustin Fox?! Do you want our destruction?!" Klein exploded.
Amara was stunned. His anger baffled her. Why couldn't they oppose Dustin?
"Mr. Klein, have you heard rumors? Dustin is merely a discarded family dog—"
"Quiet!"
Klein's demeanor shifted. He leaped to his feet, panicked.
"If you want trouble, that's your affair. Don't involve us!" he yelled.
Amara was even more bewildered. Klein's agitated reaction to Dustin was inexplicable.
"Amara, you think you're clever, but you're an idiot!" Klein glared. "If you possessed a fraction of your father's competence, you wouldn't have committed such blunders!"
Amara's expression soured, but she couldn't antagonize the Zimmers.
"Why do you say that?" she asked.
Klein sneered. "Your family will reap what you sowed!"
This further puzzled Amara.
"Don't assume your superiority," Klein said. "You used us as pawns, making Jack suffer. Were it not for your father, I'd kill you now!"
Klein's murderous tone was chilling. Amara instinctively recoiled, paling.
She'd overestimated herself, believing she could win Klein over. His fierce demeanor revealed her self-deception.
"What do you plan, Mr. Klein? We live under the law!" Amara was frightened.
"Don't worry. I won't harm you today," Klein said icily. "Take your things and leave! Never return to this villa!"
Amara's face fell.
"I'm coming out of retirement. My sole goal is to lead the Zimmers in a bloody war against the Wyatts. We'll see how long your family lasts."

Amara's face paled further. The Zimmers weren't weaker than the Wyatts. Even a Wyatt victory would be pyrrhic.

"There's a misunderstanding! Did Dustin say something? Don't believe his lies!" Amara cried, desperately trying to salvage the situation.
"No misunderstandings! Leave!" Klein dismissed her impatiently.
"Mr. Klein, please…" Amara grew more anxious, wanting to explain.
"Out!" Klein snapped, losing patience.
"Get out!" the Zimmers shouted.
Amara stumbled back, her face flushing red then paling. Her confidence vanished.
"Leave, or I'll kill you!" Klein's murderous glare terrified her. Amara fled the villa.
Her gifts were discarded, scattering on the ground. The sight stunned her. The eldest Wyatt daughter, always superior, respected, and obeyed, had faced a series of calamities since expelling Dustin. Her dignity trampled, repeatedly humiliated—a disaster. Rejected by the Medical Sage at Moon Pavilion, then pathetically ejected by the Zimmers. Frustration and rage welled up.
What was happening?!
"I merely expelled a useless stray! Why is everyone against me?" she hissed.
"Dustin, why are you so lucky?!" Hatred filled her eyes. Dustin always escaped. The impending Zimmer retaliation filled her with anxiety. "Damn it! I refuse to believe I can't defeat a useless dog!"
