Chapter 6
“Dustin Fox, you stole a million-dollar check from the Wyatt family. Return it, or I’ll break every bone in your body!” Elijah snarled, a cruel smile twisting his lips.
“A check?” Dustin frowned. He hadn’t taken anything from the Wyatt family.
“Actually, I stole it,” Elijah said contemptuously. “But those stupid Wyatt women believe you did it, you useless trash.” He continued, “I’ll cripple you, then return the check to prove my loyalty. Once I have their trust, Amara will gladly hand over the entire Wyatt Group… then everything I want will be mine! As for you,” Elijah mocked, “you’re just a stepping stone. Consider yourself lucky to be even that useful.”
Dustin’s face hardened. What a cunning plan! The Wyatt sisters likely never imagined their long-lost brother would betray them. “You’re despicable!” Simone cried indignantly.
“Despicable?” Elijah guffawed. “Dustin stole ten years of luxury from me. He’s the despicable one! I’m merely reclaiming what’s rightfully mine!” Dustin’s gaze turned icy. Ten years of luxury? What a joke! For over a decade, he’d been insignificant to the Wyatt family, a loyal dog discarded once he was no longer useful. In return for his unwavering loyalty and sacrifices, he was scorned and cast aside like “useless crap.” What was the point of such hollow luxury?
Dustin didn’t bother explaining this to Elijah. “As my adoptive father’s only son, I’m giving you ten seconds to leave,” Dustin said calmly.
Elijah glared, viewing Dustin with disdain. “Are you insane? You think you’re important? I’m right here. Let’s see what happens after ten seconds,” Elijah scoffed, remaining in place.
Soon, ten seconds passed.
“Time’s up!” Dustin said, his voice hostile.
“What are you going to do?” Elijah sneered.
Dustin moved. His speed was astonishing; a whistle sliced through the air. Elijah’s eyes widened in shock. Dustin was too fast! Before Elijah could react, Dustin stood before him, his cold gaze sending shivers down Elijah’s spine.
Elijah, involved in the underworld, had encountered many dangerous individuals. Each was frightening in their own way, but Dustin surpassed them all.
“Go to hell!” Elijah lunged, throwing a punch. Dustin easily caught his fist, gripping it tightly. Elijah struggled in vain; terror gripped him. He was supposed to be useless!
“Let go of me!” Elijah cried.
Dustin slowly twisted his arm.
“Ahhh!” Elijah screamed in agony. “Let go, or I’ll kill you!”
Dustin remained silent, his face impassive as he continued twisting. A loud crack echoed as Elijah’s arm dislocated. Deathly pale, he collapsed, looking like a corpse. He couldn’t believe it – this “trash” they’d cast out was so powerful.
“You assaulted the Langley family. You will pay a hundredfold!” Dustin said coldly, striking several pressure points on Elijah’s body. Elijah shrieked in pain. He felt death would be preferable. The pain was unbearable.
“Get out!” Dustin kicked Elijah out the door.
Elijah dragged himself home, collapsing at the doorstep of the Wyatt family villa.
“Eli!” Elisa cried out, startled. She quickly summoned help to carry him inside. The other sisters rushed to his side, their worry turning to tears.
“Leave him to me! I’ll save him!” Delia stepped forward, a renowned physician of Rivenesco, vice-president of the Physicians’ Association, and celebrated for her unparalleled medical skills. “It’s just a dislocated arm. Child’s play,” she said confidently.
As Delia realigned his arm, Elijah regained consciousness.
“Ahhh! It hurts! It hurts so much! I’m dying!” Elijah shrieked.
Delia was stunned. “I fixed your arm. Where does it still hurt?”
“It hurts, Delia! Everywhere! It’s killing me!”
Delia’s brow beaded with sweat. She tried everything, but couldn’t treat him, nor diagnose the cause of his pain. The Wyatt sisters were distraught and furious.
“Eli, what happened?” Amara asked.
“I went to the Langley villa to demand the check. Dustin refused, dislocated my arm, and said it was revenge for the Wyatt family. He said this is just the beginning; he’ll destroy us!” Elijah gritted his teeth.
The five sisters erupted in rage.
“What a vile traitor!” “We should have let him die!” “Ungrateful traitor!”
While the four sisters cursed, Amara’s face turned dangerously cold. She was determined to destroy the Langley family and Dustin Fox.
“Dustin hit pressure points on my body. Please… save me! It hurts so much!” Elijah pleaded.
“Delia, you’re Rivenesco’s most renowned physician! Do something!” The other sisters looked to Delia.
Delia’s anxiety was evident; sweat trickled down her forehead. Despite her fame and accolades, she couldn’t cure him.
“I… I can’t cure him…” she stammered, her head bowed in shame. Her pride shattered.
“Delia, isn’t your teacher the Medical Sage? Ask him for help!” Amara said.
“Right! I still have my teacher!” Delia snapped out of her daze. Her mysterious teacher had taught her everything, always guiding her through difficult cases. She owed her success entirely to him.
Delia’s confidence returned. “I’ll contact him immediately!”
