"That was her bet, not mine," Dustin said indifferently. "If she loses, she fulfills the conditions. That's the rule."
Delia gritted her teeth, feeling cornered. Apologizing to Dustin felt worse than death. Everyone watched, and she couldn't back down. She tried to appear pitiful, casting a pleading look at the crowd. Her sorrowful gaze tugged at many hearts. Who could bear to see such a beautiful woman humiliated?
"Enough! Why are you doing this to a woman? There's no need," someone said.
"Right. A man should be generous. Don't be petty," another chimed in.
Delia looked pleased. She hoped to use public pressure to turn Dustin into the target of their scorn.
"If you made a bet, you fulfill the conditions, even if you lose!" Dustin said coldly, his gaze sweeping the crowd, murderous. "Are you going to apologize in her place?"
Silence fell. No one dared meet Dustin's gaze. A chill ran down their spines; they broke out in a cold sweat. Who was this young man, and why was his gaze so terrifying? No one dared speak up for Delia. Disappointed, Delia realized she was alone.
"Delia, apologize. Or I will make you," Dustin said coldly, ignoring the onlookers.
Delia bit her lip until it almost broke. Tears welled in her eyes. "Miss Simone, how could you be with him?" she pleaded, trying to sow discord. Simone smiled softly.
"No matter what he does, I'll stand by him," she said.
Delia's face darkened. Simone must be blind, she thought, so loyal to that "piece of trash."

"Delia, don't force my hand," Dustin warned. "I won't hold back."
"Fine! I apologize!" she snapped, exasperated.
Humiliated, she apologized. He accepted. It didn't matter what others said; Delia had made the bet and lost.
Bella fumed, but was powerless. "You've got guts, Dustin! Making a Wyatt apologize! We'll make you apologize—with your life!" she hissed. Dustin ignored her, infuriating her further.
Delia, almost crying, fled the clinic.
"Just you wait!" Bella threatened, chasing after her.
The clinic's occupants exchanged helpless glances, bewildered by the events.
Dylan stared intently at Dustin. "Who is your teacher? What's your grade?" he asked darkly, refusing to believe Dustin was a nobody.
"I have no teacher, no grade," Dustin said indifferently.
Dylan froze, his face reddening with rage. He'd lost to an ungraded physician; his reputation was about to be destroyed.
"Don't forget your promise, Dr. Parker," Dustin said coldly. "Leave Rivenesco and never slander the Medical Sage again."
Furious, Dylan staggered back, then fainted from rage.
