Chapter 111

"Lord Barbenheim is dead? Did Dustin kill him?"

The Wyatt sisters stared at the scene in disbelief. Dustin, in their eyes, had always been worthless, while Lord Barbenheim was a respected figure—renowned as the War God for his military leadership. How could such a man die at Dustin's hands? They refused to believe it.

"Dustin couldn't have done it! Those Hell Guards must have killed him!" Elisa exclaimed, pointing at the guards beside Dustin. She'd witnessed their strength firsthand, recalling how easily they'd dispatched Lord Barbenheim's soldiers.

"I heard Dad secretly trained another force, besides the Shadows," Elisa continued indignantly. "Those men in black—they must be it! To think he left them to Dustin!" This revelation helped the sisters piece together the events.

"Why would Dad value that trash so highly?" Delia said, her face darkening. "If we had that force, it would be invaluable to us!" They knew Shadow One had been killed trying to capture Dustin, proving the men in black's strength.

Meanwhile, Dustin crouched, collecting Lucas's remaining ashes. Grief etched his face.

"You're useless, Dustin!" Amara raged. "Dad did so much for you, gave you that powerful force, yet you couldn't even protect his ashes? Hand over command of those men in black! You're unworthy!"

"Right! They belong to us!" Elisa and Delia shouted.

Clara frowned, lost in thought, observing the Hell Guards. Dustin froze, then raised his head, glaring at his accusers. They had obeyed Lord Barbenheim's demands to avoid trouble when he'd desecrated Lucas's grave. How dare they accuse him of failing to protect the ashes? They wanted to control the Hell Guards? Dustin realized the depths of their shamelessness.

"I killed Lord Barbenheim to avenge my adoptive father," he said coldly. "And what have you done? You are unworthy to be his daughters!"

The Wyatt sisters' faces burned with rage.

"You idiot!" Amara hissed. "Lord Barbenheim isn't someone you murder! He's a lord! Killing him will endanger you, your family, the Wyatt family, and everyone around you! And you're proud? You're stupid! Grayvale will be in turmoil! Even Central Harbor will be alerted! You're finished! Is your brain just for show?"

Dustin offered a mocking sneer. They were cowards, prioritizing self-interest, even tolerating the desecration of their father's grave.

"Do you think you're safe because Dad gave you this group?" Clara sneered. "Do you know who supports Lord Barbenheim? A mysterious, legendary figure, a supreme ruler who could easily kill you!"

Dustin scowled. He'd heard this before. Lord Barbenheim's status wasn't solely due to his achievements; a mysterious, powerful individual had played a key role in his elevation to Lordship. Rumor had it this person was exceptionally close to Lord Barbenheim and would be furious at his death.
