Chapter 147

"Um I" Ryan stammered, his face pale with panic. He hadn't expected this. "That shouldn't have happened My teacher's treatment has never failed before!" He was utterly bewildered. He'd never witnessed a failure like this. This was the first time the treatment had failed.

The West family wept. Connor demanded answers, but Ryan was at a loss. He didn't know how to respond.

"Dr. Parker, you must explain! Save my father! If you don't, I'll bury you with him!" Connor threatened.

Ryan's face contorted with anguish. He wanted to cry, but couldn't. "He's already dead. How am I supposed to save him?" he gasped.

"What did you say?" The West family glared, their fury palpable.

Irene suddenly had a realization. "Mr. Fox," she said, turning to Dustin, "you said this would happen. You must have a way to save my grandfather, right?"

The other West family members looked at Dustin expectantly. It was true. Dustin had warned them before Ryan began the treatment, but no one had believed him. His prediction had come true. Dustin must possess remarkable skill.

"If you can save him, Mr. Fox, the West family will pay anything!" Connor bowed deeply, followed by Irene and the others, except Clark, who stood scowling.

"What's the point of begging him? My teacher is an excellent physician. If his treatment failed, someone without a license won't be able to do anything. This is pointless!" Ryan scoffed. "Besides, the patient is dead. Nothing can be done, even with magic!"

The West family's expressions darkened.

"Shut up!" Connor roared. "You won't live long if my father can't be saved!"

Ryan fell silent.

"Dr. Newton Sheen is a renowned physician. His treatment cures most poisons, but some are ineffective against it; it can even worsen the patient's condition," Dustin said calmly. "Take this poison, for example. It's one of the Three Unique Poisons of the Five Venoms Sect. Without their cure, only two people in Lovellia can treat it."

The room fell silent in shock. Dustin's knowledge was extraordinary.

"You don't know my teacher or his treatment plans! How dare you claim such a thing? This accident was due to my inadequate skills, not him!" Ryan shouted.

Dustin smiled. "Half an ounce of bezoar, half an ounce of ginseng, three parts wolfberries, two parts cinnabar, and one part cinquefoil. Grind it into a powder and make a tincture with hot water."

Ryan's eyes widened in shock. "How did you know my teacher's cure? He's only told me!" he accused, pointing at Dustin.

The West family was stunned. An excellent physician wouldn't share such secrets. Yet, Dustin knew the recipe Who was he?

Dustin smiled enigmatically, offering no explanation.

"What difference does it make if you know the cure? The patient is dead. You can't resurrect him!" Ryan yelled.

Dustin chuckled. "Who says you can't bring a dead man back to life?"
