Chapter 146

Dustin hadn't intended to intervene. He didn't care if Ryan could wake Lucius; the cure was none of his concern. However, witnessing Ryan's planned treatment, he couldn't remain silent. If Ryan killed Lucius, Dustin wouldn't learn about the past.

"What did you say?"

Ryan glared, displeasure etched on his face. A renowned top-grade physician, he wouldn't tolerate a "punk" questioning his methods.

The West family watched in confusion. How dare this young man speak so boldly?

"No matter what you do, Mr. West will die," Dustin stated flatly.

"What nonsense!" Ryan's face darkened with outrage. "Do you know who I am? Who my teacher is? Who do you think you are to question me?" he spat. "In all of Lovellia, only the enigmatic Medical Sage has the right to question this treatment, invented by an excellent-grade physician!"

Dustin smirked. He was the Medical Sage.

"Are you a physician? Licensed?" Ryan demanded, his glare unwavering. It mattered little; he would curse Dustin regardless.

"I possess some medical knowledge," Dustin said calmly.

"That means nothing! Hmph! You don't even have a license. How dare you question my methods?" Ryan sneered, his anger escalating. "I've met many like you—ignorant yet interfering, trying to appear special. You're embarrassing yourself! Do you know how formidable an excellent-grade physician is? What makes you think you can comment?"

Ryan glanced at the West family, fury evident. "You asked me to treat Mr. West. What's the meaning of this? Did you bring someone here to insult me? I can't treat this patient!"

The West family frantically attempted to calm him.

"Kid, if you know nothing about medicine, be quiet! Don't disturb Dr. Parker," Connor said grimly.

Dustin chuckled. "If you don't believe me, proceed. But if you use that treatment, you'll need a resurrectionist."

His words displeased everyone.

"Sir, please, let's just watch," Irene pleaded, tugging at Dustin's arm.

"Punk, don't pretend! I'll show you the effectiveness of an excellent-grade physician's treatment plan!" Ryan laughed, preparing the massage. He had someone hold Lucius upright while he massaged his back. With a few moves, Lucius spat out dark blood.

"Don't panic. This is poisoned blood. The poison is half-cleared," Ryan reassured the family.

The family gathered the ingredients. Ryan had someone grind them into a powder, mixing it with hot water to create a tincture, which he then fed to Lucius. Lucius spat out fresh blood, staining the sheets.

Loud beeps filled the room. The machines blared. The ECG flatlined. Lucius was dead.

"What?!" Ryan's face paled, his shock palpable. His treatment should have cured Lucius.

"Dad!" "Grandpa!" The West family panicked.

"Dr. Parker, what's the meaning of this? Didn't you say you could cure him?" Connor's face contorted with rage. His politeness vanished. He grabbed Ryan by the collar, demanding answers.

The "+25 BONUS" annotations seem to be some kind of game element and are not part of the narrative itself, so they have been omitted in the cleaned-up version.
