After leaving the Cain family villa, Timothy slammed his hand on a stone sculpture at the entrance, shattering the heavy piece. "Damn him! I think he's intentionally disobeying me!" he raged.
"I agree. Dustin's not a threat. Victor's a legendary sovereign-grade fighter; there's no way he'd be that afraid to arrest him. He's just unhappy about being ordered around," Elisa retorted.
"Before you arrived, he was the most powerful person in Lannopolis. Even the Martial League's higher-ups respected him. He's displeased by your arrival with the Martial League's Gold Token, giving him orders. That's why he's threatening to leave the League," Timothy said, his anger escalating.
He huffed. "Damn him! Once I'm done here, he'll pay for this!" he growled. "Let's go. We're going to the Martial League's local branch. I intend to try Dustin tonight and ensure he receives no mercy!"
They drove to the branch headquarters. From the villa, Victor watched Timothy's motorcade depart coldly.
"Sir, the Martial League Overseer destroyed an entrance sculpture," Mr. Haversham reported.
Victor raised an eyebrow. "Send an invoice to the Martial League headquarters. Mr. Bones won't mind a small sum. Ensure he pays for the vandalism," Victor said dismissively. "The Martial League Overseer threatened you..."
Victor glared at Mr. Haversham. He couldn't afford to offend the Bones family. His threat to leave the Martial League and relinquish his title as national hero was born of anger. However, if pushed, he would have no choice. His life was paramount.
"Monitor the headquarters. Report anything immediately," Victor instructed. He sensed someone would soon teach this wealthy Central Harbor youth a lesson.
By nightfall, Timothy and Elisa arrived at the Lannopolis branch. Unlike Victor's treatment, they were met with deference.
"Prepare to invite Lannopolis' notable figures. Issue a Martial League warrant for the arrest of Dustin Fox. I want to try him for the destruction of the Aquila family tonight!" Timothy commanded.
"Yes, sir!" The staff responded swiftly. Soon, many arrived. News of a Bones family Martial League Overseer's presence ensured a full attendance.
Timothy began the trial, Elisa at his side. "Has the warrant been issued? Why isn't Dustin here?" Timothy banged his gavel, shouting.
"Please wait, sir. The warrant is imminent," Tony Snow, the branch head, bowed. "I'll wait a little longer," Timothy said impatiently.
Meanwhile, Dustin was in Irene's room at the West family villa. He left quietly after a West family member cared for Irene, and she fell asleep. He felt responsible for her poisoning.
"Have you found those ingredients?" he asked.
A Hell Guard emerged from the shadows. "My Liege, five of the seven ingredients have been located. We have a lead on one of the remaining two," the Hell Guard reported. Dustin nodded, eager to hear more.
However, a West family member shouted, "Master Fox, Martial League men have broken in! They're here to arrest you and take you to their branch headquarters for trial!"
Five Martial League men had stormed the villa, violently clearing any obstacles. "They can't trespass onto private property!" Lucius thundered.
