Listen to this chapter:

Elisa was at the Chandler family villa in Lannopolis, in the garden. "Well?" she asked Jaxon eagerly. "Do you have any good news?"

Jaxon, using his laptop to search the black market's official website, looked sullen. "Many assassins accepted the bounty, but none have succeeded yet," he said with a frown. Chaos had been rampant in the black market lately, with reports circulating of many well-known assassins' deaths.

"All these silver and gold-ranked assassins are trash! Is Dustin really that hard to kill?!" Elisa snapped.

Jaxon sighed, raising his eyebrows. Even a detailed explanation wouldn't penetrate Elisa's arrogance; she didn't understand the world of martial artists and the underground. "Didn't you hire an ace assassin? Can he do it? If not, let's hire someone else," Elisa said impatiently.

"I contacted the Lotus Sect yesterday," Jaxon said. "They're a huge sect in Honora, formerly serving the Wyatt family. If we order them, they won't disobey." He continued, "I heard they have plenty of elite fighters; killing Dustin shouldn't be difficult." His eyes flashed with excitement. The Lotus Sect, renowned in Honora for years, intimidated many; unlike ordinary gangs like the Verdant and Panther gangs, they were a martial arts sect.

Suddenly, Jaxon received a notification. Opening the message, his face lit up. "Frost did it! He killed Dustin!" he exclaimed.

"What? He did it?!" Elisa was delighted. "That ace assassin is pretty good. Let's give him a hefty tip!"

"Frost said he has Dustin's head; we need to verify his identity and collect the bounty," Jaxon said.

"Let's go! I want to see his head now!" Elisa was ecstatic.

They left for the meeting place Frost had specified—a secluded area. "Where are you, Frost? We're here with your pay!" Jaxon called out.

Frost emerged from the darkness, his face icy. "Where's Dustin's head? Show it to me!" Elisa demanded.

Jaxon noticed something amiss. "What happened to your arm?" he asked.

"My entire squad was eliminated assassinating the target. I lost an arm too," Frost replied slowly.

Jaxon was stunned. An ace assassin's squad had suffered such losses? Elisa, however, remained unmoved.

"Your job entails risk. You can't earn good money easily," she said, pulling a long face. "You lost a few assassins, didn't you? Don't worry, we'll pay you the full twenty million. And I'll give you an extra ten million, but you'll have to show me Dustin's head first."

Jaxon's face flushed with rage. How stupid was Elisa? How could she order an ace assassin around like that?

"Thirty million? How very 'generous' of you!" Frost's eyes burned with murderous rage. Assassins usually suppressed emotions, but the complete annihilation of his squad, coupled with Elisa's remarks, proved too much.
