Dustin had grown brazen and gone too far.
"I gave you a chance, but you didn't appreciate it," Margaret sneered. She looked at two men, saying, "Mr. Nelson, General Sweeney, you know what to do." They understood.
"Don't worry, ma'am. With the Lannopolis police and Lupine Special Forces, destroying the insignificant West family will be easy!" Nathan declared loftily.
"You asked for this, Dustin! You deserve what you get!" Amara said icily.
Richard stepped forward, pointing at Dustin. "Dustin Fox, bow before the Winter family matriarch and tell us what we want to know. Comply, and you might survive. This is your final chance!" he said condescendingly, flaunting his authority as police commissioner. "Get on your knees!" the police officers roared, their voices filled with spite.
Dustin's face flickered with disdain. He was unfazed by their display of power. He flicked a finger; the mini-laptop flew across the room, crashing to the floor. The image of Margaret and Amara vanished.
"Preposterous!" "Foolish!" Richard and Nathan exclaimed, outraged.
The police officers drew long knives; the elite soldiers raised their guns, aiming at Dustin and the West family.
"You have no clue what's coming!" Richard stepped forward fiercely. "Committing treason? Defying the police and military is a death sentence! It's a crime beyond your comprehension!" He raised a hand, poised to order their destruction. He paused, giving Dustin one last chance to reveal Elisa and Bianca's location.
Dustin, however, met his gaze coldly, treating him with such contempt it bordered on mockery. This enraged Richard. He was Lannopolis's most powerful figure; he could not tolerate such disrespect. He hesitated no longer, waving his arm.
"Fire!" Nathan ordered.
The Lupine Special Forces moved to fire, but at that moment, a black figure flashed through the room. Gunshots didn't ring out. Instead, with loud thuds, the soldiers fell, their necks bloodied.
The police officers were shocked; Richard visibly shaken. Nathan's face contorted with rage.
The Lupine Special Forces were elite, rigorously trained soldiers. Yet, they were helpless against the black figure. Nathan's fury intensified upon seeing the figure clearly—a woman who had killed his men in an instant.
"Killing elite soldiers is a death sentence!" Nathan said coldly, glaring at Dustin and Myst. "I know martial world elites possess superhuman abilities, but how long can you survive when a bomb rains down on you?"
