Chapter 46
"Dustin, I have great news!" Simone said, finding Dustin happily that morning. "The Zimmer family changed their minds! Felix, Jack's father, called and apologized for terminating the contract. They want to work with us again, and they're offering a lower price for their materials!"
She had been worried. Dustin had gravely wounded Jack, and she feared the Zimmer family's revenge. She'd been devising ways to protect him. To her surprise, they apologized and offered the Langley Group more materials at a much lower price. This surprised Simone. Jack had been severely injured, yet the Zimmer family not only forgave Dustin but also sought renewed collaboration at a significantly reduced cost.
As a businesswoman, Simone knew this price was so low that the Zimmer family would take a loss. Why the change of heart? She suspected Dustin's involvement, but his vague answers stopped her questioning.
"Dustin, you've helped me immensely. I don't know how to thank you," Simone said gently.
"The Zimmer family's decision has nothing to do with me. You're thanking the wrong person," Dustin smiled.
"Fine. Even if it's unrelated, I'm still thanking you," Simone said, smiling. "The Zimmer family is our biggest supplier. As long as they cooperate, we can deliver on time. Once this deal is finalized, I'll take you on a trip."
"I'll gladly accept," Dustin chuckled.
While the Langley family rejoiced, gloom settled over the Wyatt family. The Wyatt sisters sat in the living room, their faces solemn. Klein's threat was real; the Zimmer family swiftly turned their anger toward them.
"The Zimmer family spent double our initial offer to acquire our clients, despite their losses. Several key projects are stalled. If they fail, we'll lose over a hundred million dollars!" Elisa declared, her face somber. Since her setback with the Langley family, she'd focused on the family business, currently heading the accounting department. These calculations gave her a headache; a potential loss of over a hundred million was substantial. The others were equally worried.
"The Zimmer family is throwing money around recklessly, mirroring our strategies across multiple industries. Their prices are lower, and they've stolen numerous clients. This is unfair competition!" Clara exclaimed angrily. Though an artist who usually avoided company matters, Amara's distress had brought her back to work.
"The Zimmer family intends to ruin us, even if it means hurting themselves," Delia sighed.
"Are they crazy? Dustin injured Jack, so why are we paying the price while he's free? Have they lost their minds?" Elisa fumed. Amara's face was dark, but she remained silent, still puzzling over how Dustin escaped unscathed while she was ostracized after her visit to their villa.
"Clara, what happens if we continue fighting the Zimmer family?" Amara asked.
Clara, a meticulous and brilliant businesswoman (though her passion lay with art), sighed grimly. "Best-case scenario: we both suffer terribly and fall together, leaving Rivenesco's other companies to devour us."
