Chapter 49 +25 BONUS
"Amara, the Speedgro Group was in the news a few months ago. Their reputation was ruined by adulterated products. They were not only blacklisted, but their share price also plummeted, resulting in continuous losses," Clara said at the Wyatt family villa, becoming agitated when she learned Amara planned to spend thirty million dollars on Speedgro shares.
"By my estimation, the Speedgro Group won't last another three months. Buying their shares is like burning money!" Clara exclaimed, trying to dissuade Amara.
However, Amara remained confident. "Clara, you're smart, but you lack stock market knowledge. This isn't a reflection on you," Amara said with a smile.
Clara persisted.
"I'm the Stock Market Queen! I've never bought bad stocks. My judgment is impeccable!" Amara declared confidently. "I once bought stock in a company on the verge of bankruptcy. Everyone expected huge losses, but I made twenty times my investment!"
Clara watched helplessly. Amara, as head of the Wyatt Group, disliked being questioned. Further argument might result in a reprimand, so Clara sighed and accepted Amara's decision.
"I follow business news closely. So-called experts are often wrong. Stocks they dismiss often rise unexpectedly—it's never failed. I know this is the right choice. Just wait and see," Amara chuckled. Her sisters offered praise, except for Lara, who remained worried. Amara invested thirty million dollars in Speedgro shares.
The purchase quickly made headlines. People were stunned by the investment in a falling stock. Online forums erupted with scathing criticism, but Amara smirked. "What a bunch of idiots! I can't wait to see their faces when the price goes up!" she said, ready to prove everyone wrong.
The next morning, the Wyatt sisters gathered around the computer.
"It's going up! It's really going up!" Elisa shouted.
"It's only two cents, but it's the first increase in months! Amara, you're amazing!" Delia praised her sister.
"I told you my judgment was impeccable," Amara said flatly, feeling more confident than ever. "This is just the beginning," she added with a soft chuckle.
Clara remained silent, her eyes fixed on the screen. A two-cent increase was insignificant. 'Please don't fall,' she prayed silently. Thirty million dollars was a substantial sum for the Wyatt family.
Meanwhile, in Rivenesco, Dustin answered a phone call.
"My Liege, should we raise it further?" a voice asked.
"Two cents? Hardly a raise," Dustin smirked. "Let it rise further, but subtly. Let's maintain the suspense." Dustin snickered. Amara's high opinion of herself was misplaced; Dustin easily manipulated the market. He’d established a team to control the stock market, previously using it to boost Amara's reputation as the Stock Market Queen. While a Speedgro price increase seemed impossible, it was trivial for Hell Hall.
At the Wyatt villa, the sisters gasped.
"It's going up again! From three dollars to five dollars and ninety cents! It's almost doubled! Amara, you're amazing!" Elisa exclaimed.
Amara preened at the compliments. "You really are the Stock Market Queen! Only you could have foreseen this unexpected rise."
