Chapter 50
"Amara, the forum's exploding! People are wondering what kind of genius bought up Speedgro Group's shares," Delia grinned. Amara smiled at Clara.
"What do you think, Clara? My judgment wasn't wrong, was it?"
Clara looked conflicted. She hadn't imagined the Speedgro Group's stock price rising so suddenly.
"Maybe I was wrong," she muttered.
"Amara, you should sell! You might regret waiting," Clara urged.
"Sell?" Amara raised an eyebrow. "My predictions indicate Speedgro's stock price could reach seven dollars or more. Selling now would mean losing millions! I'm investing another twenty million dollars!"
Amara confidently bought more stock. Then, arms crossed, she watched the price.
Clara remained silent.
The four sisters watched the screen intently, waiting for the price to rise.
At the Langley family villa, Dustin chuckled coldly as he watched his computer screen.
"It's time," he said, giving his instructions.
"It's moving again!" Elisa yelled. Her excitement quickly turned to shock.
The refreshed Speedgro Group stock price didn't rise, as Amara predicted; instead, it fell one cent.
"Stock prices fluctuate," Amara said nonchalantly. "Relax. It will rise again."
Three sisters nodded.
"You're right! It's just a one-cent drop. That's nothing—" Before Delia finished, the price fell another three cents.
The four sisters froze, their calm shattered. While distracted, the price dropped another two cents. Then, the Speedgro Group's stock price plummeted, falling from $5.90 to $4.00 in moments.
Chapter 50
Stunned, the four sisters had never witnessed such a rapid price drop. Their hearts pounded.
"Sell them! Amara, sell quickly!" Clara panicked.
"What are you worried about?" Amara's face was icy. "I said fluctuations are normal. We're not losing yet. It will go back up." Her justification sounded more like self-assurance.
"Amara, it's three dollars now!" Elisa cried.
"What?!" Amara spun around, her face pale. A drop to three dollars meant a loss. The speed of the decline caught her completely off guard. This wasn't how things were supposed to go. Her past stock picks had fluctuated, but never this wildly; she'd never suffered losses before. Alarm surged through her.
"Amara, should we sell?" Delia asked cautiously.
Amara gritted her teeth. "We're not selling!" She still believed things would turn around.
But her fantasy crumbled. The Speedgro Group's stock price continued its descent. At one dollar, Amara froze. The Stock Market Queen, who had never chosen poorly, had made a catastrophic mistake. Her confidence shattered, her face drained of color.
"Amara, sell now!" Clara pleaded.
"Wait! Just a bit more!" Amara roared. "I refuse to believe this!" Her face was frightening.
The four sisters watched as the price fell below a dollar, ceasing to fluctuate. The stock wasn't just falling; it had been forced off the market. Amara's fifty million dollars was gone.
"How could this be?!" Amara collapsed onto the couch, looking lifeless. Suddenly, she remembered Dustin's words.
