Chapter 60
No other emerging artist in the country had ever received this level of recognition. This was due to her mentorship by expert craftspeople; several held prestigious titles and were highly esteemed in Lovellia.
"Dustin, what else do you have to say?" Clara asked.
Dustin chuckled. "Do you think your artwork is truly outstanding? Do you think those artists accepted you because of your talent?" He looked at her playfully. "Of course! Is there any other reason?" Clara snorted.
Dustin raised a finger. "One day later, all your artwork will be worthless."
Clara narrowed her eyes. "Dustin Fox, you've angered me! You've brought this on yourself!" she said darkly.
Clara then initiated a group video call via a chat app, projecting it onto a large screen. The crowd was shocked. She was about to call all her mentors simultaneously. What was she planning? Dustin stared at her indifferently.
A while later, her mentors answered. They were towering figures in Lovellia's art world—legendary artists in art, calligraphy, and literature. Three held immense social standing; these highly respected individuals enjoyed considerable privilege. A visit from any of them to Rivenesco would garner the utmost respect from even the highest officials. Therefore, Clara's group call was a significant event.
"Good evening, Sirs…" Clara said respectfully, bowing humbly. "Clara, what are you doing?" one master asked seriously. Clara bowed again before responding.
"It's rude to disturb you all like this, but I have no choice. Please forgive me," she said softly. "I have an unpleasant request."
"Go on," the three distinguished men said.
Clara pointed at Dustin. "This is Dustin Fox. He insulted me today. The Wyatt family raised him, yet he's so ungrateful he nearly killed my younger brother, Elijah. He also plotted against the Wyatt family. Such wickedness infuriates anyone!" she said sadly. "I'm helpless. I must ask for your help… I beg you to exile this ungrateful wretch! Strip him of his citizenship and banish him!" Clara said, filled with anger and hatred.
Everyone was shocked. Simone's face paled. Clara's ruthlessness in seeking Dustin's exile was shocking. Citizenship in Lovellia was paramount; exile meant severed ties with family and friends. The masters’ power to effect this was terrifying. No one expected Clara's mercilessness. Dustin's face turned cold. 'Clara Wyatt, you're truly ruthless,' he thought. Initially, she'd wanted him out of Rivenesco; now, she wanted him out of the country. A chill ran through him, fueling his anger. 'If you want to play this way, don't blame me for being merciless either!'
