The assistant was flung backward, falling beside Dylan and Delia before fainting.
"You rude brat!" Dylan exploded, slamming his hand on the table. He threatened Dustin. "I've been a physician for years, treating countless powerful people, all of whom are grateful. You have no right to cause trouble in my clinic!"
Delia sneered. "Dustin, do you still think you're in the Wyatt family, free to do as you please? What do you hope to gain by siding with the Medical Sage? Does he even know you? You're insignificant! You could never even speak to him!"
Dustin glared. "At the very least, the Medical Sage was once your teacher. Yet you slander him! But I suppose that's typical of you."
"Shut up! The Medical Sage is unworthy of being my teacher!" Delia raged. "He's not comparable to Dr. Parker!"
Dustin looked at her mockingly. "He is the one who is incomparable to the Medical Sage," he said coldly.
Dylan, furious at this, challenged, "Aren't you arrogant, boy? Are you skilled in medicine?"
Dustin smiled faintly. "I know a little. I wouldn't call myself a master, but I'm better than you."
Delia and Dylan were furious.
"You arrogant little prick!" Dylan roared.
Delia sneered.
Dustin had lived with the Wyatt family for over ten years, and Delia knew he was medically ignorant. She sometimes used medical terminology he couldn't understand. The idea of him possessing medical skills was ludicrous.
"I'm the youngest intermediate-grade physician in Rivenesco, and Dr. Parker is a renowned top-grade physician, nearly a member of the Divine Hall," Delia mocked. "You're not even an intern! You have no right to be so arrogant. You're making a fool of yourself!"
"Titles are meaningless. Skill is all that matters," Dustin said indifferently.
Dylan laughed. "What's this? You want a medical skills contest?"
"Why not?" Dustin retorted.
Dylan scoffed. "I wouldn't lower myself to compete with you. It's beneath me. But if we must, we'll do it with a task. I'll give instructions, and Delia will compete against you."
Delia said confidently, "Don't worry, Dr. Parker. I'll win!" She couldn't believe she'd lose to Dustin.
"Fine. Pick your task," Dustin nodded.
Dylan sneered and had his now-conscious assistant retrieve two pills. "These are poison pills. You and Delia will each take one. I'll teach Delia to neutralize the poison, and we'll see who's faster. The first to succeed wins. These won't kill, but prolonged exposure will have dire consequences—possible paralysis of half your body. Well? Will you accept?"
It was a cruel challenge. Dylan, having provided the poison, knew the antidote. He merely wanted to humiliate Dustin.
"Why not?" Dustin readily agreed, without even glancing at the pills, shocking Simone, whose face paled.
"If you're going to teach Delia how to cure you, then I'll teach her how to cure me," Dustin added, looking at Simone.
