Chapter 104: Buy a Small Gift for Alfredo

Myrna casually strolled around before heading up to the second floor. The mall also had a Sparkling Gems counter, which wasn't crowded with shoppers. Ordinary people knew they couldn't afford anything there just by looking at the brand, so they generally didn't bother going in.

Myrna walked in absentmindedly. Seeing her enter, the saleswoman greeted warmly, “Hello, may I ask what kind of jewelry you'd like to choose? I can make some recommendations.” Upon seeing her, the saleswoman realized Myrna was a high school girl. She was taken aback for a moment, but still maintained a warm smile. She didn't seem unwilling to waste time just because Myrna looked young.

Following behind Myrna, the saleswoman asked gently, “Sister, what do you want to buy? Bracelets, chains, necklaces, earrings, brooches, etc. I can tell you where each style is located.”

Myrna had never visited a Sparkling Gems store before; Denise always sent her a piece from each new collection. She'd thrown them all in her backpack, and couldn't remember where she'd put any she hadn't. Her main purpose today was to find a nice, fun little trinket for Alfredo. So, she lowered her gaze, pursed her lips, thought for a moment, and said, “A brooch, perhaps.”

“Alright, a brooch. Please follow me,” the salesperson said, leading her further into the store.

The store was very large, with a minimalist black and white decor. Metal accents exuded a sense of understated luxury. The overall style was very grand. There were a few scattered customers. Compared to Myrna's casual, unbranded outfit, they were obviously high-class ladies, with exquisite makeup and hairstyles. The brands of their clothes and accessories were easily discernible.

When the other salespeople saw Myrna was a high school girl, they immediately lost interest. Only the salesperson who initially greeted her stayed with her, always with a smile, treating all customers equally.

“We’re here; this is the place.” She led Myrna to a counter where the lights shone on a glass case displaying a variety of exquisite diamond brooches.

“I recommended a model for you.” The salesperson put on gloves, used a key to open the glass safe, and took out a small, cute animal brooch. She introduced it with a smile, “This brooch is very cute. Although it’s not the latest series, it has a high cost-performance ratio and is very suitable for young girls. It’s a seahorse pattern, playful and cute when pinned on the collar of a dress.”

Myrna took a look and agreed it was very cute, suitable for a child. However, her gaze fell on a brooch with a small kitten pattern, and she pointed, saying, “Could you take this out for me to have a look?”

“That model?” Debbie hesitated. That model was the latest one launched this year, featuring a large number of diamonds, and was quite expensive. At first glance, Myrna was clearly a student; she definitely couldn't afford it. But she only hesitated for a moment before taking the item from the cabinet as Myrna had instructed, gently whispering, “This one is a bit expensive because it’s a new model. Actually, the seahorse brooch we saw earlier is also very nice. Although they are all small diamonds, they still sparkle under the light.”

Myrna looked at the cat brooch, which was intricately designed. The cat’s eyes were adorned with a pair of rare black diamonds. The diamonds weren't large, but they were charming in their cuteness. The little one would probably like it. Myrna thought of Alfredo, her eyes softening. She was quite fond of the brooch. She handed the item to the salesperson, saying, “I’ll take this one, please wrap it up for me.”
