Chapter 128: Mr. Larson Comes

Leann’s face turned pale. Stephanie’s face didn’t look good either, but she managed a smile and gently told a group of socialites, “The school’s auditorium is right in here.”

“Over here.” Myrna arrived at the auditorium and saw Hattie waving at them. The auditorium was large, capable of accommodating over a thousand people. The school only used it at the start and end of the school year. This was the first time Melcester Central High School used the auditorium for anything other than the beginning or end of the school year; a professor from Craydon University was giving a public lecture. The school had mobilized all the classes. From the first to the third year of high school, each class had its own designated seating area. The teachers were responsible for arranging the students.

Myrna and her classmates were in Senior Three Class A, the best class in the grade. Therefore, their seats were at the front. Aside from the first three rows reserved for visiting celebrities, their class had the seats closest to the podium.

Myrna had just sat down when she saw Terrell leading a man in from outside. The man was dressed in a dark-colored shirt, sleeves rolled halfway up, revealing a section of his smooth arm. The beaded bracelet and silver bangle on his wrist were particularly noticeable—luxurious yet understated—but nothing was as striking as his handsome face.

“Calvin, how did he get here?” Myrna had just sat down when she heard the buzzing chatter of girls echoing around the auditorium.

“Wow, look, that guy is so handsome.” “Was it a star?” “The principal accompanied him all the way; could he be some big shot?” “So handsome, even more handsome than the school beauty’s boyfriend, like a model.”

Myrna saw him wearing the shirt she had bought for him, suddenly looking in her direction from afar. His deep, narrow eyes seemed to see her clearly through the crowd. Their eyes met. Myrna’s heart thumped loudly. That indescribable restlessness rose in her chest again. She immediately averted her gaze. Rachel, sitting next to her, excitedly tugged at her, her face flushed. “My, did that guy just glance at us?”

Myrna’s brow twitched as her phone rang. She hummed in response, absentmindedly replying, “I didn’t notice; he might have been looking somewhere else.”

“Indeed.” Rachel was simply looking at handsome guys. She saw a handsome guy sit down in the center of the first row, but she could only see the back of his head. She withdrew her gaze and turned her attention elsewhere.

The time for the lecture was approaching. The people who were supposed to come had basically all arrived, accompanied by school leaders. The first three rows were almost full. Myrna saw Leann, Luther, and others sitting in the third row, while Celia was in the first row, but sitting on the side. He was the only one in the middle of the first row, seemingly accompanied by a department-level leader.

The phone buzzed again. Myrna lowered her head and checked her phone. Five or six pieces of news. Blake was the main focus, interspersed with two messages from the Scarlet Guild. She responded to the Scarlet Guild first, then looked at the harassing text messages sent by Blake.

“Blake: Mya, Mr. Larson went to your school to set up a book—frvas did you see him?” “Blake: I wanted to go too, but the company wouldn’t allow it. Ugh, frustrating.” “Blake: I really wanted to have a parent-teacher conference with your…”

Myrna raised an eyebrow, looking around the packed auditorium. Where was this supposed parent-teacher meeting? She just replied to Blake that she had seen him. A new message popped in.

“Calvin: Do you want to come to the front?”

Myrna’s dark eyes glanced forward; her pale fingertips immediately responded to him. Both handsome and cool.

“MS. I didn’t want to…”
