Chapter 129: Look-Alike
Calvin hooked his neck, looking down at the reply he’d received on his phone, the corner of his mouth unconsciously curling up. He glanced back at the assembly hall one last time. The sight of him made the people next to him shudder in fear, involuntarily turning their heads to look back, only to see a dense crowd of students sitting behind. What on earth was this big Buddha looking at?
Myrna didn’t sit in the first row, but Stephanie, relying on her connection with the Stark family, took a seat in the third row, attracting the envious glances of many students.
“Myrna,” Adrian lowered his voice and mocked, “Stephanie had gone to sit in the third row. The Stark family is really stupid. So many people came today, but apart from them, who lets their own relatives sit in the front? They just love to show off, thinking that this makes them stand out!”
“They had no idea that their behavior was considered disgraceful in the eyes of those who truly held status. Look at Lawson; even his mother wouldn’t sit with them, yet they thought they were making a spectacle of themselves.”
Myrna saw Stephanie move to the front from a distance. After replying to the message and putting her phone away, she responded without surprise, “That’s just how Stephanie is; it’s not like you just met her today.”
Adrian snorted, barely concealing his disdain. “I just thought they were idiots!”
“You don’t even understand such a simple principle: the more you lack something, the more you flaunt it. No wonder you can’t understand high society!”
Look at the Cooper family, the Ferring family, and others who are wealthier and more powerful than them. None of them dress as if they are walking on a red carpet, jumping around like they did. What a disgrace!
After a thunderous round of applause following the principal’s speech, the long-awaited professor from Crayden University finally revealed his true self.
The man was probably in his early forties, dressed in the ample, plain shirt and suit pants favored by men in the science and engineering fields. His buttons were done up to the collar, perfectly aligned, unwilling to reveal a single thread, clearly reflecting his meticulous and unassuming character. But his appearance was exceptionally outstanding. Even if he was dressed meticulously, it did not affect his good looks. With thick eyebrows and big eyes, his features were three-dimensional. His brows seemed to be perpetually furrowed, with a faint crease between them. However, he was particularly energetic and tall enough to be 1.8 meters. His demeanor exuded a mature charm that only a grown man could possess. He spoke slowly, calmly discussing several interesting aspects about learning.
Ramon had an uneasy feeling watching the person lecturing on stage. Students, as if struck by electricity, glanced at the man’s face. Feeling puzzled again, she furrowed her brows and looked at the man lecturing on the stage. Looking back again, glancing at the profile of the girl who hadn't been paying much attention to the lecture, the more he looked at her, the more he couldn’t help himself but blurt out, “Myrna, why do I feel like you look a bit like that professor from Craydon University?”
As soon as he said this, several people sitting there all turned to look at Myrna. Not to mention, it really did look alike. He just said it casually, never expecting that Myrna would be involved with a professor from Craydon University. After saying this, he touched his nose and muttered to himself resentfully, “All good-looking people are like portraits; it might be a coincidence.”
The incident of the Stark family’s fake heiress caused quite a stir in upper-class circles. Thanks to the Stark family, everyone in the circle had heard that the biological parents of the fake heiress were from Rivertown. The professor from Craydon University, who lived in Nemmington, had no connection whatsoever with Rivertown.
