Chapter 161: The Electronic Keyboard

Luther was annoyed, but he squeezed out a reluctant expression and spoke softly. “I heard you’ve been having trouble recently, with many people online slandering you because of Stephie’s incident. Your grandmother has a good relationship with the Herring family. If you’re willing to help, I can plead your case with them.”

Myrna’s eyes were deep, somewhat mocking, somewhat amused. She glanced at him: “I don’t need it. There’s no favor that can’t be used up; you better save your connections for Stephanie.”

Luther saw her indifference and watched as she entered the school, while he was stopped by the security guard. He could only shout from outside: “Myrna, I remember you used to love musical instruments, and you even played the electronic keyboard for a while. We have one at home; if you’re free and willing to come home for a meal, we can give you that keyboard!”

Myrna walked away, one hand in her pocket, not looking back. She knew the Stark family had a very expensive electronic organ, which Luther had bought through connections abroad. When it first arrived, Stephanie had even shown it off on social media. Later, the family bought a more expensive piano, and Stephanie seldom played the electronic keyboard. She believed that, compared to the piano, the electronic keyboard simply couldn’t hold a candle. At this point, Luther still wanted to bribe her with Stephanie’s unwanted second-hand goods. Well, really… haha, she was certainly held in high regard!

The first period was physical education. Everyone in Class A was very relaxed. Because physical education class was generally considered a break, the senior high school teachers understood that the students were under a lot of pressure and had heavy workloads. Usually, they would gather on the sports field to do a few warm-up exercises. Everyone went back to their own classrooms. Those who wanted to rest, rested, and those who wanted to do homework, did their homework. Myrna rarely came to school. Many people were playing around her usual seat.

Adrian arrived at school around the same time as her, so he heard Luther shouting at her outside. He saw Myrna sitting there playing with her phone. With a deep look in his eyes, he asked, “Myrna, do you play the electronic organ?”

Rachel and Ramon were also nearby; they curiously looked at Myrna upon hearing this: “Mya, do you like the electronic keyboard?”

Myrna hadn’t expected him to have heard everything. She took out her book and pressed it to her temple. “I used to play, but I rarely do now.”

Adrian vaguely remembered his mother saying that the Stark family had originally bought an electronic keyboard worth tens of thousands of dollars. Myrna loved it, but Stephanie, being selfish, moved the keyboard into her own room when she saw that Myrna liked it. Later, his mother secretly bought Myrna an electronic keyboard for about a hundred dollars. When the Stark family found out, his mother was kicked out. He remembered his mother saying that Myrna was particularly gifted in this area. Stephanie sought a renowned teacher to guide her in learning a piece. Myrna could learn just by watching tutorials online. He didn’t know where that electronic keyboard ended up; it might have been forcibly thrown out by the Stark family.

Adrian moved his lips, wanting to say something, but Rachel and the others were unaware of the situation. They simply thought that Myrna liked electronic keyboards and shared the gossip with sparkling eyes: “I know a big shot who is really good at playing electronic keyboards, named Lightchaser. She is famous for playing underground rock, but she is too mysterious and never willing to expose her appearance in front of the camera!”

“She was incredibly talented, handling every piece of music she released all by herself, and she had a large fan base. Many celebrities in the entertainment industry loved her music, and your brother was one of her fans. Some of the songs in his first album used her sound sources, and that’s when I got to know her. After listening to her hit song, ‘Rise From the Ashes,’ on YouTube, I couldn’t help but fall in love with her.”
