Chapter 91: Maybe She’s Having Her Period
Rachel quickly hid the object in her hand behind her back, forcing a smile. “M–Myrna, how did you come back?”
Her reaction wasn’t dramatic; Myrna didn’t seem to mind. She walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down. “Hattie only spoke to me for a moment before she sent me back.”
“Oh, oh, oh.” Rachel nodded repeatedly, but she didn’t dare look at her.
Myrna squinted slightly but didn’t press further. She acted as if nothing had happened, opening her book and taking out her phone to play with it as usual.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Rachel let out a long sigh of relief. She quietly took out the thing she had been hiding and sneaked a peek at it. Her expression was complex, clearly conflicted.
Myrna seemed to have seen the note she had hidden. A note? She pondered with her eyelids lowered, truly unable to understand why Rachel had hidden the note and why she was so nervous, as if she didn’t want Myrna to see it.
And evidently, the hidden note was found on her seat.
For the next two physics classes, Rachel was distracted. Several times, the teacher called on her to answer questions, but she didn’t know what the teacher was talking about. Even Ramon noticed something was wrong with her. When it was time for morning exercises, he chased after her to ask what was wrong.
In the end, Rachel didn’t say anything and ran off.
The more Myrna looked, the more she felt something was amiss. She put away her phone and, under the surprised gazes of Ramon and Adrian, she put her hands in her pockets and walked out with the crowd.
“Myrna, are you going down for morning exercises?” Ramon asked, as if he had seen a ghost.
Adrian found it strange. Myrna disliked crowded, lively places. She had long ago requested to be excused from morning exercises. Usually, she would stay in the classroom playing with her phone or resting. But today, she suddenly wanted to go down.
Myrna didn’t mention anything about Rachel; she simply replied, “Go down and see.”
Ramon scratched his head, still not understanding what was wrong with her. “I’ve never seen you like this before. I really don’t understand you girls; you’re all so strange.”
Adrian, who had recently been getting along well with Myrna and Rachel, patted Ramon on the shoulder and said seriously, “It might be that time of the month.”
Ramon: Bro, impressive!
It was time for morning exercises at noon; almost everyone from the high school department had gone to the playground. With so many people and so much activity, it was bustling. Myrna followed the girl in the strawberry dress, discovering that she didn’t go to the playground but instead quietly turned a corner to avoid her classmates and headed towards the back of the teaching building.
Rachel was a typical good student with excellent grades and obedient behavior. Unless there were special circumstances, she would absolutely never skip morning exercises. Myrna only hesitated for a moment before deciding to follow.
It was time for morning exercises, with aerobics music playing in the front. There was no one behind the teaching building. She saw Rachel arrive at the lawn behind the building, looking around with a puzzled expression, as if she were looking for someone. It seemed someone had called her to come here, but they didn’t show up.
Myrna was daydreaming when a dull sound, like something breaking, came from the rooftop. Instinctively, she looked up, only to see discarded construction materials from the top of the teaching building rolling down from the railing. The target was Rachel, who hadn’t realized the danger yet!
Her pupils constricted; she shouted loudly, “Danger! Move away!”
The body rushed past faster than the voice. Rachel stared blankly, and when she heard the voice, she just stared blankly and called out in a daze, “Myrna?”
Then, subconsciously, he looked up and found something falling towards him; his face turned pale with…
At the critical moment, Myrna lunged, pushing her to safety. Meanwhile, the falling object barely grazed her arm, emitting…
