Chapter 92: Just an Accident?

Half an hour later, Hattie, Ramon, Adrian, and several students from Class A rushed to the school infirmary.

“Myrna, were you okay?”

“Myrna, are you okay?”

Everyone saw the scene as soon as they arrived. The school doctor had bandaged Myrna’s wound. She rolled up her sleeve, revealing a stretch of her snow-white arm wrapped in gauze. A hint of blood seeped through.

Myrna’s expression was fine, except her face looked pale from blood loss. She seemed very calm, as if she didn’t feel pain.

Rachel was crying beside her, a fountain of tears, covering her face with immense guilt. She continuously apologized, “I’m sorry, Myrna, I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would turn out like this.”

Seeing that neither girl was seriously hurt, Hattie breathed a sigh of relief. She walked over, patted Myrna’s shoulder, and bent down to ask, “Are you okay?”

“My arm is scraped, but that’s about it,” Myrna said, defiantly raising her hand, clearly showing her bone wasn't injured.

Ramon walked over and gently pulled away the sobbing girl’s hands from her face, comforting her softly. “Why are you crying? It’s so… Isn’t Myrna okay?”

Rachel was distraught, refusing to lift her head, tears falling heavily. Ramon raised his hand to wipe away her tears, gently arguing, “Alright, stop crying. Myrna has a headache.”

“Did you want her to comfort you with her injured hand?”

“Me? I didn’t.”

Rachel wiped away her tears, wanting to cry but not daring to. She held back, her round face flushed red, her eyes also red, looking like a red-eyed raincloud, standing there helplessly.

Adrian was the calmest among the group. After confirming Myrna was okay, he immediately said to Hattie, “Ms. Berson, the steel pipe was properly placed on the top floor. How could it suddenly fall and hit someone?”

“This…” Hattie, who had just heard about the incident and rushed over, was full of concern for the students’ safety and hadn’t thought about anything else. She looked equally puzzled.

Indeed, those abandoned steel pipes had been there for a long time. Their sudden fall was unreasonable.

An accident occurred at the school, and Terrell, along with the headmaster and others, arrived.

Chapter 93: This is Not an Accident

Some students, drawn by the gossip, also came to watch the excitement.

“Is Myrna okay?” Terrell asked anxiously upon entering, quickly addressing the school doctor. Before arriving, he had called Calvin; Myrna had a special status. If an accident happened at their school, he needed to notify her parents and guardians.

Seeing that Myrna was alright, he turned to the head teacher and demanded, “What’s going on?”

The head teacher, rubbing his forehead, explained, “It seems to be an accidental incident. It rained a few days ago, and the piled steel pipes rolled down. The railing on the top floor might have rusted over the years and suddenly broke. The pipes just happened to fall and almost hit them.”

“So this was an accidental incident?” Terrell felt uneasy.

Hattie, wary due to Adrian’s earlier comments, suggested, “Principal, should we check again? I feel it’s too coincidental.”

Stephanie and Abbey were also in the crowd outside the school infirmary. When Abbey heard Hattie say she wanted to investigate, her face visibly changed. She nervously shrank back and accidentally bumped into Stephanie. Startled, she quickly apologized, “Stephie, I’m sorry, are you okay?”
