Chris changed at the hospital and went straight to the operating room as soon as possible.
From the observation room, he could see every detail of the surgery inside.
There was another colleague next to him, who made room when he saw Chris come in.
“Mr. Green.”
Chris acknowledged with a grunt and stared intently at Joanna’s surgical procedure, afraid that she might have problems too.
He never expected the problem to be with the nurse; Chris began to feel that no one around him was trustworthy.
Fortunately, Jake was the first assistant, so if Joanna had any issues during the operation, Jake would notice immediately.
“What exactly happened?” asked Chris.
Dr. Wallace shook his head, saying he didn’t know.
Henry Wallace was also on duty that night and was going to check on Joseph later.
After all, Joseph was a celebrity. If something really happened to him in the hospital, their hospital’s reputation would be ruined.
Then an emergency case of a child arrived, and Henry went over to help.
The child had just started an IV when chaos broke out.
When Henry came out of the emergency room, he saw a group of police surrounding Janet and taking her away.
“Janet?” Chris said in disbelief.
Janet had assisted him in several surgeries and had never shown any problems.
He never thought Janet was the turncoat.
Henry nodded.
“The police didn’t say much, they just took Janet away. I think Janet herself was a bit nervous and quickly called you. Mr. Green, do you want to ask about the arrest?”
Not only did he want to ask, but he also had to go see for himself.
The surgery did not last too long.
It ended after almost three hours, and the patient was sent back to the ward.

He even briefly regained consciousness upon arrival, opening his eyes and looking confusedly at the ceiling before falling asleep again.
Joanna took off her mask and said to Chris, “Someone administered a respiratory stimulant, but given his current condition, accelerating breathing causes respiratory failure because of lung injury – oxygen can’t keep up.”
“Thank you,” said Chris.
Joanna waved her hand. “It’s nothing. I was on duty today anyway. I just didn’t expect… I heard Janet gave the medication? Was that a mistake? Janet has worked here for three years and never made a mistake. I heard she was even going to be promoted to head nurse. How did she get arrested?”
“Arrests are the police’s business. We just need to ensure the patient’s safety. Thanks for your hard work tonight. You should go change. Jake, come here.”
Jake was always the fastest to change clothes and was already back in his doctor’s overalls.
He had one hand in his pocket and quickly walked over when he saw Chris.
“What’s going on?”
Chris took Jake upstairs and headed straight to the office.
When they opened the door, Jessica was also inside.
She had come up using the private elevator and hadn’t drawn much attention.
“Oh, Ms. Wilder,” said Jake, already aware of their relationship, so he wasn’t surprised.
“How is he? Is he okay?” asked Jessica, looking at Chris.
Chris said, “The surgery was very successful. He was awake for a few seconds. It seems once the medication wears off tomorrow, he’ll be fully conscious.”
Jessica sighed in relief. As long as he was okay, everything else was up to Chris to handle.
Chris was the honorary chairman of the hospital, and even though Jessica was an investor here, she wouldn’t interfere with his decisions.
A man needed to show power in front of others.
Chris told Jake about the police situation.
Jake stood there in shock for a long time.
“So you’re saying Janet tried to kill someone? If this gets proven, her nursing license will be revoked!”
