Chapter 144

Ashley stood across from Chrisโ€™s desk, flipping through the files, looking over them carefully for quite a while before shaking his head again.

โ€œNo, this personโ€™s background is very clean, exceptโ€ฆ her encrypted records from when she was born until when she was three. Neither Shannon nor I have the clearance to access them; we might need an expert.โ€

Naturally, this kind of task was given to Jennifer.

Jennifer had already left Michaelโ€™s house, and Shannon had chosen someone else to continue the nanny workโ€”this time, a professional.

โ€œEncrypted?โ€

The officeโ€™s intercom rang, and Shannonโ€™s voice came through.

Jennifer looked at the computer screen, which was mostly black except for a few red dots moving slowly.

During the call, two of those dots disappeared, indicating they had been caught.

A smile appeared on Jenniferโ€™s lips. โ€œSend it over. Iโ€™m busy right now. Iโ€™m helping Roy catch people. Iโ€™ll get on it in half an hour.โ€

Shannon hesitated on the other end. โ€œI didnโ€™t know you were still helping Captain Felton.โ€

โ€œOh, just got the info. They said their team couldnโ€™t locate someone, so I helped out. Two have been caught, three remain. Itโ€™ll be over soon.โ€

Shannon sighed. โ€œAlright, the files are sent. Hurry up.โ€

All suspicious individuals from the hospital were sent to the Wilder Group, then Shannon filtered and forwarded the relevant data to Jenniferโ€™s computer.

There was no information in the world that Jennifer couldnโ€™t find, unlessโ€ฆ the person appeared out of thin air.

Jennifer pushed open Jessicaโ€™s door and threw the recently found files onto her desk, looking utterly dejected.

โ€œThis person must have jumped out of a rock.โ€

Jessica blinked, speechless. โ€˜What the hell is she talking about?โ€™

Jessica raised her eyelids and glanced at her.

Jennifer wasnโ€™t afraid at all, leaning on the desk with both hands.

โ€œThereโ€™s no information I canโ€™t find in this world unless this personโ€ฆ was not born in a hospital. Otherwise, there would be records.โ€

But the Mandy they were investigating had none.

Nobody understood why Chris focused so much attention on this person.

After Jenniferโ€™s investigation, there was indeed something wrong with her.

Jessica lowered her head to think.

If even Jennifer couldnโ€™t find anything, it wasnโ€™t encryption; it must have been erased.

โ€œOnly about three people in the world can erase birth records and store them without me noticing. From what I know, one is in the country, the other two are abroad. They canโ€™t have any connection to Mandy, and the one in the countryโ€ฆโ€

Her voice dropped. โ€œIs even less likely.โ€

Jessica called Chris to explain the situation.

The information Jennifer found wasnโ€™t much more than what Shannon had given, just a bit more detailed.

The more they looked, the simpler Mandyโ€™s life seemed.

โ€œEven Jennifer couldnโ€™t find anything?โ€ Ashley asked in surprise.

Jessica had the call on loudspeaker and smiled at Jennifer when she heard this.

Jennifer took the phone and held it to her lips.

โ€œWhatโ€™s the meaning of this, Mr. White? Are you underestimating me? Do you want to have a go yourself?โ€

Ashley quickly surrendered. โ€œIโ€™ll pass on that. Youโ€™re the best in the world at this. But Iโ€™m sure this person didnโ€™t jump out from a rock.โ€

Jennifer said, โ€œYouโ€™re mocking me.โ€

After their banter, Jessica returned to the matter at hand.

โ€œSo thereโ€™s definitely something wrong with Mandy. Iโ€™m sending Calum to follow her. Do you know the home address?โ€

Chris read the address from the patientโ€™s file.

It was a very ordinary neighborhood, with average pricesโ€”perfectly matching Mandyโ€™s family situation.
