Chapter 144
Ashley stood across from Chrisโs desk, flipping through the files, looking over them carefully for quite a while before shaking his head again.
โNo, this personโs background is very clean, exceptโฆ her encrypted records from when she was born until when she was three. Neither Shannon nor I have the clearance to access them; we might need an expert.โ
Naturally, this kind of task was given to Jennifer.
Jennifer had already left Michaelโs house, and Shannon had chosen someone else to continue the nanny workโthis time, a professional.
โEncrypted?โ
The officeโs intercom rang, and Shannonโs voice came through.
Jennifer looked at the computer screen, which was mostly black except for a few red dots moving slowly.
During the call, two of those dots disappeared, indicating they had been caught.
A smile appeared on Jenniferโs lips. โSend it over. Iโm busy right now. Iโm helping Roy catch people. Iโll get on it in half an hour.โ
Shannon hesitated on the other end. โI didnโt know you were still helping Captain Felton.โ
โOh, just got the info. They said their team couldnโt locate someone, so I helped out. Two have been caught, three remain. Itโll be over soon.โ
Shannon sighed. โAlright, the files are sent. Hurry up.โ
All suspicious individuals from the hospital were sent to the Wilder Group, then Shannon filtered and forwarded the relevant data to Jenniferโs computer.
There was no information in the world that Jennifer couldnโt find, unlessโฆ the person appeared out of thin air.
Jennifer pushed open Jessicaโs door and threw the recently found files onto her desk, looking utterly dejected.
โThis person must have jumped out of a rock.โ
Jessica blinked, speechless. โWhat the hell is she talking about?โ
Jessica raised her eyelids and glanced at her.
Jennifer wasnโt afraid at all, leaning on the desk with both hands.
โThereโs no information I canโt find in this world unless this personโฆ was not born in a hospital. Otherwise, there would be records.โ
But the Mandy they were investigating had none.
Nobody understood why Chris focused so much attention on this person.
After Jenniferโs investigation, there was indeed something wrong with her.
Jessica lowered her head to think.
If even Jennifer couldnโt find anything, it wasnโt encryption; it must have been erased.
โOnly about three people in the world can erase birth records and store them without me noticing. From what I know, one is in the country, the other two are abroad. They canโt have any connection to Mandy, and the one in the countryโฆโ
Her voice dropped. โIs even less likely.โ
Jessica called Chris to explain the situation.
The information Jennifer found wasnโt much more than what Shannon had given, just a bit more detailed.
The more they looked, the simpler Mandyโs life seemed.
โEven Jennifer couldnโt find anything?โ Ashley asked in surprise.
Jessica had the call on loudspeaker and smiled at Jennifer when she heard this.
Jennifer took the phone and held it to her lips.
โWhatโs the meaning of this, Mr. White? Are you underestimating me? Do you want to have a go yourself?โ
Ashley quickly surrendered. โIโll pass on that. Youโre the best in the world at this. But Iโm sure this person didnโt jump out from a rock.โ
Jennifer said, โYouโre mocking me.โ
After their banter, Jessica returned to the matter at hand.
โSo thereโs definitely something wrong with Mandy. Iโm sending Calum to follow her. Do you know the home address?โ
Chris read the address from the patientโs file.
It was a very ordinary neighborhood, with average pricesโperfectly matching Mandyโs family situation.
