Chapter 165

They could only anxiously wait for news at the hospital.

“Don’t you think Mandy looks a bit familiar?” asked Chris.

“What do you mean?” Jessica looked at Mandy’s photo and felt a little something, but couldn’t quite say who she reminded her of.

Chris said, “I think Mandy looks a bit like Collin, don’t you think?”

Jessica exchanged a glance with Jennifer.

They both knew that Collin had a younger sister. The year their parents died, the Phillips family lost Collin’s sister, claiming she accidentally wandered off, but in reality, she was abandoned.

Collin had been abroad for so many years, always searching for his sister’s whereabouts.

After Chris mentioned it, Jessica looked at the photo again and really did see some resemblance.

“You’re too familiar with Collin, maybe you don’t notice it, but I haven’t met Collin many times. Just looking at Mandy’s figure, she does resemble Collin a bit. You shouldn’t look at her whole face, just cover the eyes and lips and compare the outline of their faces. From this angle, the two of them are practically identical.”

Jennifer put her hands over those two facial figures, and indeed, imagining Collin’s face in her mind, the two faces merged together perfectly.

Mandy was basically a female version of Collin.

“No way…” Jennifer was at a loss for words. “Collin has been searching for his sister for so many years… Actually, from the beginning, I found it strange that Mandy’s life before a certain age was never shown at home. I thought at the time that she seemed like someone who just popped out of a rock.”

Recalling Jennifer’s frustration back then, Jessica couldn’t help but laugh.

“Yes.”

So could Mandy really be related to Collin?

They couldn’t say for sure; everything had to wait until Mandy was safely rescued.

Until after work, there was still no news from Roy. The three of them decided to wait somewhere else. Chris still had something to discuss with Jake, so he told the two women to leave first.

“Captain Felton and his team has gone to arrest someone today. Keep a close eye on Hector. If Hector answers the phone and his whereabouts seem suspicious, immediately have security detain him. Hector should know more than Megan.”

Jake gave an okay gesture and asked Chris, “Still haven’t caught anyone?”

“No news yet. They’re fully prepared for this. It’s not a big problem. Mandy’s identity is a little suspicious, so we need Mandy alive. Rescue operations are difficult. I trust Captain Felton’s ability.”

Everything outside moved at a surprising speed. When Mandy returned home, it was already past midnight.

Chris and Jessica waited for news in the restaurant. Even Jennifer had gone home.

“She’s safe.” Roy sent a message to Chris.

Jessica looked at the message, hesitating a little.

“Should we tell Collin? Wouldn’t it be too soon?”

“I think we shouldn’t let Collin be disappointed for nothing. Mandy had medical treatment at our hospital before and there are blood type records. Find a way to get a hair from Collin. The Summit Infirmary can do the test. Just bring it directly to me.”

Jessica nodded.

Mandy was brought back to her own house and cried with her parents for a long time. Roy and Jack stood nearby the whole time. Mandy’s parents were deeply grateful to everyone in the squad.

After calming down, Roy said, “Miss Milton, go back to your room and try to recall the details. Lily, please go with her to take a statement. Mr. Milton, we still need your cooperation with some questions.”

“Sure. Head back to your room, Mandy. The police officer will go with you.”

Mandy wasn’t actually afraid. After working as a foreign media reporter for so many years, she was already used to it.
