Chapter 166
โIs Miss Milton your biological child?โ asked Roy.
Mandyโs parents were both stunned, then looked at each other with disbelief. They clearly hadnโt expected Roy to ask such a question.
Mr. Milton was the first to respond, โTo be honest, Mandy is not our biological child. My wife and I havenโt had children all these years. It was probably when Mandy was three years old. When we went out, we saw her crying alone in the neighborhood, with no one around.โ
This happened many years ago, and after Mandy was brought back at the age of three, she had a serious illness. She didnโt remember anything before she was three.
The couple completed the adoption paperwork and adopted Mandy, always treating her as their own child.
โMay I ask how you figured it out?โ Mr. Milton asked.
Roy thought of Jessica and Chrisโs suspicions. He didnโt expect the two of them to be right about Mandyโs identity.
He said, โAccording to genetics, both of you have monolids. Miss Milton couldnโt naturally have double eyelids. Of course, girls like to be pretty and might have cosmetic surgery, but hers looks very natural. I donโt think she got them from surgeries.โ
This was a very scientific perspective. There was nothing Mr. and Mrs. Milton could argue with.
โAll these years, Mandy always thought she was your biological child. Has no one ever come looking for her?โ
โMy wife and I made some money later and moved out of the old neighborhood to here. The previous neighborhood was in Tenalit, quite far from here. Alsoโฆ before we completed the adoption, I spent a whole year taking Mandy to look for her family, but there was no trace.โ
So many years had passed, and they already treated Mandy as their own child, sometimes even forgetting she was adopted.
The neighbors had all changed, and no one knew about Mandyโs true relationship with them.
Since that was the case, the possibility that Mandy was Collinโs sister increased a little.
Could it be that fate connected these people together somehow?
If Mandy hadnโt been involved in the Aitairy case, they might never have found her. No matter how hard Collin searched, he wouldnโt find a sister with no memories.
Roy sent a message to Chris. โItโs been confirmed. Mandy was adopted. They completed the adoption paperwork. They had seen Mandy near Tenalit when she was about three, alone with no one around, fitting the abandonment situation.โ
Chris responded, โGood. Try to get a hair from Mandy. I want to do a paternity test.โ
Roy replied, โOkay.โ
Putting away his phone, Roy said to Mandyโs father, โWe may need a hair from Miss Milton. I hope you donโt mind.โ
โSure.โ
Getting Collinโs hair was quite easy. In a few days, there would be a joint meeting where Collin and Jaden represented Hurricane Media, and Jessica would attend with Chris.
In the dressing room, Collin was adjusting his collar.
โYou donโt look very well. Been staying up late doing surgeries recently?โ Collin glanced at Chris through the mirror.
Chris nodded. โThereโs a tricky patient transferred from another state. I just finished the second surgery today, and there might be more.โ
โYouโre already the honorary chairman, yet you still schedule so many surgeries. Arenโt you worried about being overwhelmed?โ
โI still prefer being on the operating table. Francesca handles hospital affairs for me.โ
