Chapter 224

Joanne angrily stomped behind them, her gaze sweeping toward Uncle Mason.

Chris keenly noticed this and also looked toward Uncle Mason’s direction, who slightly nodded to Joanne, signaling her to keep following them.

At first, Joanne hesitated a little, but then she saw Collin and Jaden holding hands and whispering.

Jaden, a man, actually had a look of gentle annoyance in his eyes as if blaming Collin slightly, and then Collin indulgently lifted his hand to lightly tap Jaden’s nose.

Such a pampering gesture.

Joanne couldn’t help but blame the other members of the Phillips family in her heart.

If they hadn’t sent Collin abroad for so many years, Collin and she would have grown up together, and Jaden wouldn’t have had the chance to be with Collin.

She truly liked Collin.

When she was young and experiencing her first feelings, she didn’t understand what liking someone really meant, nor what it meant to be unable to live without that person.

By the time she saw Collin on international news, it was already too late.

“Does Joanne really listen to Uncle Mason?” Indya asked curiously.

Chris said, “It’s not that she listens to Uncle Mason, but only Uncle Mason can offer support. If Joanne wants to be with Collin, she has to go through Uncle Mason.”

But no matter how much she tried, Uncle Mason had no say with Collin, and Collin had no need to care about the opinions of other members of the Phillips family.

He could be with whoever he wanted.

That was Collin’s right.

“She’s just a little girl. I’m not angry, really,” Jaden said to Collin. “As a man, if I were to get jealous over a little girl, that would be really childish of me.”

Collin said, “But I want you to get jealous, no matter if it’s a man or a woman.”

Thomas and Lynsey found a place to rest, surrounded by several familiar people.

By now, everyone in the circle knew that Michael was the CEO of Aitairy and Elfa, and they all congratulated them, saying they had raised a good son.

Thomas’s face showed no expression, but he felt uneasy deep down.

They hadn’t been able to contact their “good son” in days.

Whenever they called, only an assistant answered, speaking in a language they couldn’t understand, and immediately refused them.

They were clearly resentful.

“That brat still hasn’t come back. I told him the domestic market for Aitairy was too limited and hard to do business in, but he wouldn’t listen,” Thomas complained to his friends.

“The market is saturated now and can’t be divided any further,” one person said, raising his chin toward Collin. “Hurricane Media has already returned to the country. If Aitairy comes back, what position would the others have?”

“That’s true. I don’t know what that brat is thinking. Now that the kid is grown up, he just won’t listen. I have no other choice.”

Lynsey, however, was still very happy.

Everyone said she had given birth to a good son, who was so talented.

Now they even had a granddaughter. She could finally enjoy life at home.

Right now, Thomas was the only one left in the Hall family.

Lynsey had slowly stepped down over the years, but still held some shares.

After all, these were pieces of the family that had fallen into her lap.

Michael had been sent abroad for an arranged marriage, which Lynsey also reluctantly accepted, but… there was no other way – it was for the sake of the Hall family.

The Jills family had gone bankrupt.

When Michael divorced and returned to the country, Thomas refused to let Michael bring the child back home and insisted Michael make his living without the help of the Hall family.

Lynsey had been married to Thomas for many years and understood his intentions.

He was trying to use this opportunity to court the Wilder family.

Back when Michael was still with Jessica, they had taken advantage of the Wilder family to do many things, even stealing several businesses.
