Jessica and Shannon got into the car and rolled down the window.
Chris didnโt leave immediately. He waited until the car had driven away before turning around and heading back into the hallway.
โI really donโt know what to say. You and Jessica werenโt in a very good relationship before, and I was worried every day. Now that things are getting better, you just have to show off in front of someone single like me. I meanโฆโ
โDonโt say so much. Howโs it going with Indya?โ Jessica frowned. โDonโt tell me she still canโt let go of Anthony?โ
Shannon thought about her recent conversation with Indya. Overall, it wasnโt that she was still obsessed. Indya just thought it wasnโt necessary to be enemies forever.
If they could be friends, it wasnโt bad to have an old friend in an unfamiliar city. Besides, Anthony was going abroad and wouldnโt stay in Impelia long. Indya didnโt have any place for Anthony in her heart. If not a lover, then a friend โ just an ordinary friend.
โThatโs a relief,โ Jessica sighed.
Shannon sat beside Jessica and checked recent trending searches. Besides the Wilder Group, Blake, and Michael, the hottest topic was still Blake giving Indya a lift home. Fans were from all over the country, so looking up someoneโs information wasnโt difficult. These people already knew Indya was Blakeโs dedicated public relations person and even handled some agent duties. So Blake sending Indya home wasnโt seen as anything ambiguous or scandalous.
โThis isnโt the result Blake wanted,โ said Jessica as she took a sip of coffee from Shannon. The bitterness immediately cleared her mind, warming her body like an electric shock.
โDid Blake give you a hard time?โ asked Shannon.
Jessica shook her head.
โNot exactly a hard time. I knew Blake liked Indya long before he signed the contract.โ
Indya probably wouldnโt have guessed it, but she and Blake had met before. A long, long time ago, even before Blake had recovered from the forced relationships, Indya had seen him and even helped him. So Blake coming to the Wilder Group wasnโt because Jessica deliberately recruited him. It was Blakeโs careful planning.
โYou mean Indya helped Blake years ago? And Blake had developed feelings for her back then?โ
โYeah. Anyway, thatโs what Blake told me. And I remember that event he mentioned. Back then, I hadnโt fully taken over the Wilder Group yet, and Indya wasnโt working for me โ she was just an unknown public relations manager.โ
The situation back then was complicated. Even Blake, who had undergone psychological counseling, couldnโt fully remember everything. But he would never forget Indyaโs appearance, nor would he forget her words.
โThis isnโt his fault. What does it mean to say the victim is guilty? If a woman is forced into a relationship is a disgrace, is it right to think men deserve all of this?โ
โWhat? Are you going to sue me?โ
Back then, Indya was still beautiful, wearing a light-colored short skirt with long wavy hair and bright red lips. She flicked her hair and looked at the other person.
โMy name is Indya, public relations at Horizon Media. Feel free to sue me.โ
After saying that, she grabbed the stunned Blake, who was frozen by the reportersโ questions, and took him away. Only when they reached a quiet corner did she let go, looking helpless.
โThis isnโt your fault. But Iโm not a lawyer. Here, take this.โ
Indya handed Blake a business card.
โThis is the best lawyer in Impelia. Hiring him for a court case wonโt be cheap, but I think he will help you.โ
With that, Indya left.
