The rumors about Michael and the celebrity had spread wildly, and many people knew about it. The Hall family even sent someone to inquire, afraid that Michael might lose Jessica as his wife.

Jessica was at the company and received several calls from Michael every day. Sometimes, when she was in meetings and someone else answered, Michael would still call back. Jessica even felt she might have been a bit blind at first–how had she ever been attracted to Michael? She felt somewhat confused.

Jessica said, “From now on, Michael’s calls should be directly transferred to the secretarial department. I won’t answer them anymore.”

Shannon glanced at her, nodded, recorded the matter, and then asked, “The cooperation with the Hall Group has started recently but hasn’t been officially signed. Michael has asked several times about setting the time to sign the contract and also about holding a press conference. What are your thoughts?”

Indya was always very bold and didn’t wait for Jessica to respond. She said directly, “That entertainment company of the Hall family? Our PR department is not going to play house with them. If they want a press conference, they can hold it at their own company. I don’t care.”

After the meeting, many people left, leaving only a few of them in the office.

“Are you not going to keep pretending anymore?” asked Shannon.

Indya also said, “What’s the point? There’s no point in playing games with someone like Michael. I think we should just lay our cards on the table. The Hall family can never compare to you.”

But Jessica shook her head. “We still have to pretend, just be a bit distant with Michael lately. After all… we’re not together. We can’t let Michael think I’m his possession. If he keeps causing trouble every day, Chris will get angry. Also, the rumors.”

The rumors did make Jessica feel strange. Michael had never cared about others’ opinions before, but this time he was involved in a scandal. Jessica found it suspicious and wanted someone to look into it.

“How’s Calum? Is he still with Helen?” asked Jessica.

Indya nodded and told Jessica the latest news about Calum. “They say Helen hasn’t gone out at all. After Jordan’s car accident, she wanted to visit, but according to your instructions, she stayed indoors.”

That was good–otherwise, Helen might have died before Jessica could do anything. Jessica was actually more curious about what evidence Helen held that made the Hall family and Michael so afraid and even spared Helen’s life. Everyone in the Jills family had died abroad, and their graves were not in the country. Helen was completely alone. The only person she could rely on was an enemy. Such a life was really meaningless.

“Let’s leave it at that for now. The cooperation with the Hall family should be put on hold. The real focus should be on cooperation with the Tourism Bureau and the Summit Infirmary’s PO. We need to hurry. Next year it must get on track, or else Mr. Green will lose legitimacy.”

“Ms. Wilder,” Maggie knocked and came in. “Ms. Felton is here.”

‘Ms. Felton?’

Jessica didn’t immediately realize who it was. Roy had always been called Captain Felton, so Ms. Felton must be Nina.

“Take her to my office. I’ll be right there.”
