Episode 102

Asher Burton was more than strikingly handsome; he was a multi-talented performer who had achieved superstardom through singing, dancing, and acting. With him and Katrina attached to a project, success seemed virtually guaranteed. Even a newcomer in the female lead would be propelled to instant stardom, a testament to Silver Elephant Media's commitment to quality.

Ruby's concern flickered across her face. "I read online that 'Agarwood' is something you wrote years ago. Do you still recall the details? I've heard Asher can be difficult. If he disagrees, even Mr. Rodgers might struggle to secure your role."

Asher's reputation preceded him. Some whispered he was arrogant; others claimed he maintained a calculated distance to avoid scandals.

Elizabeth patted Ruby's hand comfortingly. "Relax. I know my work intimately. Let's not keep them waiting." She wasn't just another scriptwriter; every word she wrote reflected her dedication. She knew her creations inside and out, impervious to any critique.

Upon reaching the office, Soren was absent from his desk. Instead, a young man reclined dramatically on the sofa, his Balenciaga hoodie and jeans projecting calculated indifference. His legs sprawled across half the room, a physical embodiment of his apparent unconcern. Sharp features and captivating eyes hinted at a complex persona—playful yet forbidding. He was as unapproachable as rumored.

Asher's career was legendary. Debuting at nineteen with a music group, he'd conquered international stages, accumulating gold awards and establishing himself as the group's leader. After escaping an exploitative agency, he transitioned to a successful solo career, his first romance film solidifying his A-list status. He remained at the peak of his career, his co-stars consistently seasoned professionals or exceptionally skilled rising stars. If anyone had reason for an air of superiority, it was him.

Elizabeth's arrival elicited a brief glance from Asher; his gaze swept over her before dismissively returning to his phone. Just then, Soren emerged from the inner room, smiling. "Ah, you're here."

Elizabeth remained unfazed by Asher's demeanor; to her, he was merely another component of the production. She confidently entered, greeting, "Good morning, Mr. Rodgers, Mr. Burton." Nodding toward Ruby, she added, "This is my agent, Ruby Curtis."

Asher straightened with dramatic slowness, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Are we here to exchange pleasantries or get on with the audition?"

Elizabeth knew her appearance wasn't universally admired, but such blatant hostility from a stranger was unexpected. She frowned, searching her memory for any possible offense. Nothing came to mind.
