Episode 141
Albin's question hung heavily between them, a silent plea for truth in Elijah's next words. Elijah fixed his penetrating gaze on Albin, his eyes drilling into him as if to unravel his very thoughts. That intense gaze evoked the question Elizabeth had asked earlier, over the phone.
Under the weight of Elijah's stare, Albin broke into a cold sweat. Suddenly, Elijah diverted his gaze, his expression etched with contempt.
"With all that spare time, perhaps it's time to consider getting a job," he suggested, his voice resonating with a deep, dismissive tone as he walked away. He continued, "We're tied together in marriage—that's the undeniable reality. Does love carry any real significance? I provide her with the best in life. Surely, that's more substantial than fleeting feelings?"
Elijah's unwillingness to further the conversation prompted Albin to quicken his pace and catch up. Analyzing the situation, Albin countered, "In terms of material wealth, you've ensured Sandra has had the best possible life; her every wish has been fulfilled without fail over the years. Yet, this extravagance mirrors the affection one might show a sister. On the other hand, your interactions with Elizabeth are charged with emotion; your fiery temper exposes the bond between you. Perhaps you don't love Sandra, but Elizabeth stirs something in you—she stands apart from other women in your life."
