Episode 99

Sandra's words were soft, laced with uncertainty. "Elijah, is it true? Are you thinking of divorcing her?"

Elijah responded casually, pulling a sleek black card from his bag and handing it to the sales associate. "Divorce? I'm not planning anything of the sort." He added, "Please package the dress she's modeling and those handbags she admired."

The transaction exceeded a million dollars. Initially startled, the sales associate quickly recovered and dashed to process the payment. "Right away, sir."

Upon their arrival, the sales associate had been instructed by her manager to maintain complete discretion regarding Elijah and Sandra, avoiding any gossip. Initially indifferent, the prospect of a substantial sale sparked her enthusiasm. She approached with a glowing smile, showering Sandra with compliments. "Ms. Sandra, that dress is breathtaking on you. Could we snap a picture together later?"

Sandra replied warmly, though her smile lacked genuine joy, her hand involuntarily clenching into a fist.

Outside, Camille emerged from the boutique and saw the interaction. She turned to go back inside, but Elizabeth seized her hand.

"Why are you stopping me?" Camille snapped, her eyes blazing. "I need to deal with that woman! She's putting on quite a show. I should expose her deceit."

Elizabeth restrained her, pulling her away from the storefront. "We've already addressed her earlier remarks. Dragging this out won't help. She's just acting like a victim to win Elijah over. Let's not play into her hands."

Persuaded, Camille ceased her resistance, intertwining her arm with Elizabeth's. She scowled, venting her frustration. "What kind of enchantment has that woman cast on Elijah? How could he fall for such a two-faced woman? Is he blind? The perfect wife is right before his eyes! Or perhaps he's one of those oblivious rich guys from romance novels, tired of exquisite dinners and craving street food. And that outfit? It's like a cheap knockoff from an online bazaar."
