Chapter 29

Listen to this chapter:

It was like a needle pricked Alarickaโ€™s finger, and her finger went numb.

โ€œNone of that was true, it was all made upโ€“โ€

Suddenly, Alaricka felt weak, and her fingers holding the phone moved a little.

Kieran wouldnโ€™t have believed it, just like before, when Roschelle set her up. Kieran always took Roschelleโ€™s side.

She just said, โ€œForget it, Iโ€™ll handle it myself.โ€

One second before hanging up, Kieran suddenly said, โ€œAlaricka, I havenโ€™t had your oatmeal in a long time.โ€

Alarickaโ€™s eyes suddenly froze.

She should have said it wasnโ€™t just oatmeal; there was lots and lots more.

Even though Kieran always cooked for Roschelle, Alaricka knew Kieran didnโ€™t like cooking.

So she worked really hard at cooking. During the time she kept pestering Kieran and lived with him, she tried all kinds of ways to cook for Kieran, and pretty much pushed herself to become a top chef.

Ever since she was reborn, she never cooked for Kieran again.

What did Kieran mean?

Alaricka sneered, โ€œWhat, you canโ€™t bear to let your sweetheart cook, so you just treat me like a maid?โ€

She didnโ€™t wait for Kieran to say anything and just hung up.

In her last life, she already played the free babysitter for Kieran long enough.

In this life, even if she went blind, she wouldnโ€™t cook another meal for Kieran.

Although Alaricka didnโ€™t know for sure, Clarissa was probably staying at a private hospital owned by the Argent family.

The hospital wasnโ€™t far, and it took Alaricka less than ten minutes to get there by taxi.

She kept her eyes straight ahead and headed straight for the VIP area of the inpatient department.

Clarissaโ€™s room wasnโ€™t hard to find.

Clarissa never liked studying. She loved playing video games and often yelled and screamed while playing. She cursed at her opponents and her teammates, too.

You didnโ€™t even have to listen carefully to hear the sharp screams coming from one of the wards, loud enough that other patients and their families could have complained.

Alaricka just pushed the door open and went in. She saw Clarissa sitting cross-legged on the hospital bed, totally fine. Clarissa was holding her phone sideways with both hands, her fingers tapping nonstop on the screen, and she kept cursing under her breath.

Unexpectedly, Roschelle was here, too.

Roschelle put the cup on the nightstand: โ€œClarissa, come drink some water. Stop playing games all the time; itโ€™s bad for your eyes."

Alaricka walked over, pulled Clarissaโ€™s phone out, and threw it on the couch in the hospital room.

Clarissa looked up with wide eyes: โ€œWho is it?!โ€

Alaricka raised an eyebrow: โ€œMe.โ€

Seeing it was her, Clarissa got even angrier: โ€œGet out! Who told you to come here?โ€

Clarissa reached out to get her phone back, but Alaricka just threw the phone even farther.

Clarissa shouted, โ€œAlaricka, are you crazy? Give me the phone!โ€

Roschelle walked over with a gentle smile on her face. โ€œMs. Huston, is there something you need?โ€

Alaricka didnโ€™t look at her, just looked at Clarissa: โ€œClarissa, was that post on the campus forum from you?โ€

Clarissaโ€™s expression suddenly froze, her eyes shifted, and she glanced at Roschelle for no reason, then smiled, โ€œAlaricka, what post? I donโ€™t know anything.โ€

Alaricka didnโ€™t miss Clarissa looking at Roschelle.

She squinted her eyes.

She just complained about that post on her phone, and also asked some friends to complain.

But it didnโ€™t work; there was no punishment.

For stuff about students and similar topics, the software handled it pretty strictly. Even if it was just a normal campus post, as long as someone complained, there would be some kind of result.

But this post didnโ€™t...

It was obvious that someone was pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Clarissa didnโ€™t have this ability.

That could only mean someone else was helping her.

Roschelle or Kieran?

Alaricka didnโ€™t say anything else and just took Clarissaโ€™s phone, unlocked it with Clarissaโ€™s face.

Clarissa screamed and ran over like crazy to grab the phone.

Alaricka backed up to the door and opened Clarissaโ€™s social media app.

Sure enough, she saw the post Clarissa made in there. There were already over three thousand comments, and pretty much the whole school knew about it.

She was straightforward and just deleted the post.

At this point, Clarissa had already rushed over, and she handed the phone back.

Clarissa opened her mouth wide to yell, but didnโ€™t make it in time.

She just heard a crisp slap.

Pop!

Clarissaโ€™s face got slapped to the side by Alaricka, and a faint red handprint quickly showed up on her fair skin.

Roschelle walked over and held Clarissa, her brows slightly furrowed: โ€œMs. Huston, why did you do this?โ€

Alaricka looked straight at her: โ€œRoschelle, you actually knew it, too. No need to pretend.โ€
