Chapter 301
โWhat did she say?โ
โMs. Huston said, these things might have been done by youโฆโ
The aunt paused quietly, waiting for a reply from the other end.
Gradually, no sound came from Kieran, making the auntโs heart grow uneasy, pounding with doubt about whether she shouldโve spoken up.
The aunt pursed her lips and decided to say it: โMs. Huston doesnโt seem to trust you, so no matter how I persuade her, she wonโt contact youโฆ I think there might be some misunderstanding between you and Ms. Hustonโshould we clear it up? After all, you donโt visit her or call, so Ms. Huston doesnโt know you care, and itโs normal for her to be angry.โ
The aunt blurted it all out, then shut her mouth, anxiously waiting for Kieranโs response.
On Kieranโs end, it stayed quiet for a moment, and the auntโs heart raced.
She didnโt know if Kieran would get mad hearing this.
Sweat broke out on the auntโs palms before she finally heard Kieranโs reply.
โI know.โ
The aunt felt relieved and quickly said, โAh, Mr. Argent, I have nothing else.โ
Kieran hung up right away.
The aunt gripped her phone and sighed deeply.
Facing Kieran, the aunt was stunned by the powerful aura and smooth moves of this man under thirty; even though she was thirty years older, she couldnโt lift her head freely or meet his eyes.
The aunt shook her head and walked into the ward to clean up the trash.
After leaving the hospital, Alarieka hailed a taxi and went straight to the temporary office of the Mcintosh Piano Competition organizers, where Paloma had been working on issues lately.
The main venue for the Mcintosh Piano Competition wasnโt in this city but down south; theyโd rented a temporary spot in the business district to host it.
It was still work hours, so Paloma should be there.
The hospital was a bit far from the organizersโ office, taking nearly thirty minutes to reach.
The Mcintosh Piano Competitionโs temporary office was on the thirty-fourth floor of this fancy office building; Alarieka walked in without being stopped, and since it wasnโt rush hour, few people used the elevator, so she got to the thirty-fourth floor fast.
As a temporary setup, it wasnโt fancyโno reception desk, just two rows of offices visible at a glance.
When Alarieka entered, no one stopped her; she stood at the entrance and could easily hear voices from insideโlots of people arguing and fighting.
Alarieka walked softly over and stood by the office door where the

noise came from.
One voice boomed above the rest: โThis must be resolved! Several employeesโ private info got leaked, nonstop calls pouring in, and you know damn well how vile those texts are. Plus, the higher-ups are furious โ fix it this week! Give me a solution now or youโre all fired!โ
โHowโd such a simple thing blow up? Every one of you is responsible! Reflect on this properly! Company pays you to work, not sit around! Do your damn jobs, find solutions, quit moping โ pisses me off! Whyโd we even hire you?โ
โUseless bunch! Canโt handle this? Worthless! Absolutely worthless!โ
Alarieka Hustonโs brows slowly furrowed again.
The manโs words grew increasingly outrageous and agitated. Even standing outside the door, Alarieka could hear how loudly he was shouting, his voice seeming to echo throughout the entire floor.
Inside the office, no other sound could be heard over his voice.
The office had semi-transparent glass walls. Alarieka vaguely saw the room packed with people, yet no one uttered a word.
The man suddenly roared, โSpeak up! Are you all mute? Canโt get a single word out?
