In that moment, she almost felt pain all over her body. Her breathing kept shaking, like someone was choking her, and she couldnโt move.
Without any warning, her tears fell from her eyes first.
โAlaricka. Alaricka.โ
Alaricka looked around anxiously. Where was her Nina? Where was Nina?
โAlaricka!โ
Kieranโs voice grew anxious, and his big hands suddenly grabbed her shoulders, forcing her to sit up from where she was almost lying on the seat.
Caught off guard, Alaricka met Kieranโs furrowed brows and sharp gaze. She shuddered all over and stared at Kieranโs face, lost in thought.
Kieranโs hand moved down from her shoulder and grabbed her arm. His voice was low: โWhere did you get hurt?โ
Alarickaโs brain slowly started working again. She didnโt answer, stiffly turned her head.
A middle-aged woman rode her e-bike and crashed into her car door. On the back seat of the e-bike was probably her high school daughter, and she was probably there to pick her up after school. The middle-aged woman looked pale and anxious, kept saying something, and her forehead was covered in sweat.
Alaricka wasnโt hurt, just couldnโt get over the trauma from the old car accident for a while, and was all stiff. Kieran used a lot more force with both hands: โAlaricka, talk.โ
Alaricka shook her head slightly, her voice rough: โIโm not hurt.โ
Kieran looked at her, eyes slightly narrowed: โWhat were you thinking?โ
Alaricka slowly looked up and met Kieranโs eyes. It was this man who, right after the car accident, carried Roschelleโs sonโwho had hurt his knee a littleโinto the ambulance. If her Nina had gotten on that ambulance first, maybe she wouldnโt have died, wouldnโt have passed away because help didnโt come in time.
It was this man who kept humiliating her in every way after her Nina died. Kieran really was a ruthless guy. He really was Roschelleโs husband, no doubt about it.
In that moment, she could barely hide the hatred in her eyes. But it still didnโt work. She didnโt have what it took to go up against Kieran yet.
Before Kieran noticed, she closed her eyes, pulled her arm out of Kieranโs hand, and turned around with her back to Kieran. Kieran kept staring at her back, and his furrowed brows didnโt seem to relax. Alarickaโs lookโฆ
โMr. Argent, how should we handle this?โ
Kieranโs assistantโs voice came from outside the car. Kieran lifted his eyelids and glanced at Alaricka a few times, then buttoned up his suit jacket and got out of the car.
The electric car didnโt have much impact, and the Rolls-Royce door just got a dent. It was just that this was a luxury car, a top-of-the-line Rolls-Royce, really expensive. Even if it just got a dent, it wasnโt something an average working person could afford. The middle-aged woman was so anxious that her forehead was covered in sweat, and she kept apologizing to Kieran.
A car accident wasnโt a small thing. In no time, a crowd gathered nearby to watch, and there were even some sympathetic people looking at this middle-aged woman. The high school girl in the back seat kept her head down, covering her face with her hair, and her fingers kept fidgeting in front of her.
Kieran raised his hand and tiredly pressed his fingertips to his brow. Alaricka rolled down the window and looked up at Kieran. โMr. Argentโฆโ
Kieran put his hand down and looked at Alaricka with a calm gaze: โWhat, werenโt you just scared to death?โ
Alaricka paused, lowered her head, the light in her eyes faded. She pressed her lips together and said softly, โForget it.โ
Even with her head down, she could still sense Kieranโs eyes on her. Kieran slowly smiled and said, โAlaricka, this is my car. If you want me to let it go, Iโll pay for the repairs, too.โ
Alaricka looked at the middle-aged woman who was almost about to kneel down, tightened her hand on the car window, and said, โSo what do you want?โ
Kieran curled his lips, but his eyes were still cold: โFine, just forget it, but you owe me one.โ
After saying that, he lifted his chin a bit, signaling the assistant to handle it. The middle-aged woman almost wanted to kneel down with gratitude, โThank you, thank you.โ
The girl in the back seat suddenly looked up at Alaricka, and Alaricka also saw what the girl looked like. Alaricka had a good memory and remembered that this girl was one of the students who blocked her in the bathroom today. The girl opened her mouth, Alaricka calmly looked away and rolled up the window.
The car just got a dent; it could still run. After Kieran and the assistant got in, the car started up quickly.
